VW Polo 2010 - Polo sill damage-cost and method of repair? - lordwoody

My wife had a puncture today whilst I was out and my elderly father, in an attempt to 'help', put the jack on the sill, not the jacking point. He did this twice, each time getting the car a little way of the ground before the jack sank into the sill. The sill now has 2 fairly substantial dents, although no cracking of the paint. Is it likely these can be knocked out or will the sill have to be replaced? Anyone like to hazard a guess as to cost?

Could you possible pull the dents out, drill small hole in the centre of one dent, screw in a fairly hefty self tapping screw, then pull on the screw, the dent may come out, otherwise it may be cheaper to simply fill the dent in with filler and paint over it, will not affect the strutural integrity of the sill

Take it to a body shop and get a quote. You can not knock it out as you can not gain access to the inside. Regards Peter
