98 1.6 Re; Holts Tyreweld - Vinnie
The alloy wheels on our car deflate at a rate of 5psi per week due to alloy corrosion / lacquering breaking down. We have had the tyres removed, rims ground and the tyres refitted with 'sealant' to no avail.
Does anyone have any thoughts / experience of using Tyreweld for rim problems.
Thank you, Vinnie.

No.

It's not the answer tyre off clean the rim and paint it, back in the day we soaped the rim and make sure the tyre bead is clean.

Tyre weld is for emergency get you home repair not for a long lasting solution.

Look around for mobile wheel refurbishing comany get them on the case see what new products are available.

Thread drift alert! Having just bought a car with no spare of any sort but a compressor and a pressurised container of gunge, I went to a tyre place and asked if, with the tyre full of the gunge, would they repair it. Absolutely not was the reply. So, all this stuff does is get you home if you are lucky and then you buy a new tyre! I have bought a new tyre, on a rim, plus a jack and it is called a Spare Wheel - job done!

Where have you put this spare wheel if there was not one fitted just shoved it in the boot?
98 1.6 Re; Holts Tyreweld - Armitage Shanks {p}
No - there is the usual space in the boot for a fullsize spare wheel - Ford just choose to supply the car without one! S-Max comes without a spare wheel AND has no space for one either
