Police van ? - Ramite
Saw a van the other day pull a HGV over on the M1 around A64 junction. Was a VW transporter crew cab just had blue lights under the grill.Windows were blacked out.Thought it a bit odd police using a van to pull traffic over.Could it have been MOD ? Armed police?Anyone any ideas ?

I remember a tv reality programme about crash investigators where they pulled a car with their van on a motorway. The conversation in the van was words to the effect of "If hes daft enough to speed past a marked police vheicle he deserves a ticket", Later conversation stated "we may be in a van but we are still police".

i was looking for an amber beacon for my car as i often provide H&S cover for local events and found a website for a UK firm that would sell you any manner of flashing light even in blue no questions asked

May have been customs and excise, particularly if it was a non UK truck ?

Either that or it was Van der Valk.......

Off out now.

I bet you guys all think John Thaw was the first person to say this.

Well you're all wrong. It was Patrick Mower in "Special Branch" some years before. Such a brilliant line, the scriptwriters reused it!
