Toyota Corolla and Verso (2002 - 2007) - 2003 1.4 Front NS Wheel

2003 1.4 Front NS Wheel - Pendlebury
Having a check over my 53 reg Corolla this am before it goes for MOT next week and I grabbed the front near side wheel whilst stationary and gave it a good push and pull.
It felt a little loose with a small knocking noise.
Could anyone advise what it is likely to be (recognising it may be one or two of a number of things).

Where did it rock - with your hands at 9 & 3 o'clock or at 12 and 6 o'clock? Or both?

Probably 10 and 2.
The car was on the ground at the time so could not do 12 and 6.

Well you really need to jack it up to get to the bottom of whats what with it all, but if it feels 'loose' whilst on the ground and there is a slight knocking noise then it sounds in need of urgent attention. It could be a wheel bearing gone.
