Hi

I am looking at a neigbours 406 & it appears to have a noisy power steering pump with evidence of fluid leaking underneath it.

I presume the bearings have gone hence the noise & leakage.

Is this a common fault & is it an 'easyish' repair?

Any ideas on the best place of obtaining a replacement at a reasonable price? Is this going to be a factors part or genuine Peugeot?

Breakers?

The dealer price for a new pump will be truly eye watering.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago, I took a chance and bought one off ebay from a car being broken. I think I paid about £25 for it.
