yr 2004 - Diesel Fumes inside car - Chris75
Having a bit of a problem at the moment.

When i start the car in the mornings there is smells quite strongly of exhaust fumes.

I've had the car in at the garage for the last couple of days but they can't find evidence of any leks etc. Cleaned out the Breathers? and treated the air con - but still smells. Goes away when moving but returns when sitting in traffic.

With the bonnet up there is a really strong smell in the engine bay - off side close to bottom of windscreen.

Anybody got any ideas what I can check?

It's a 2004 model 62k up

TIA

Hi,

You might want to have a look at this thread on the Honda Accord forum:

It seems to suggest that a cracked exhaust manifold might be the cause.

Hope that helps guide you

Forgot i now have an edit button to back and edit out the mistakes above - Doh.

Thanks Grenadier-45, Looks like that could be the problem.

Blimey, £6 - 700 to fit a new manifold!!!

Just how dangerous are the exhaust fumes :-)))
