My 05 reg Mondeo suffers a leak after prolonged rain and after the car has stood for some time.I don't think its the screen although the water only drips off the passengers side sun visor securing screw.Could rain get into the channel which runs along the roof from front to back which is covered by a black strip presumably to make it watertight. How is this strip fastened to the roof and are there any holes into the roof space? Any advice would be welcome as the main dealers say seals are only covered by a one year warranty Many thanks.

get it fixed elsewhere
stuff the warranty- this is not fit for purpose. Sale of Goods Act . take the dealer to court. they will shift their position then, It is a' fob off.'
But warn them first of what you will do to give them a chance.
I suspect it is a try on to get rid of the weaker minded buyers.

You could try quoting EU Directive 1999/44 at them:
eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CEL...L
e.g. Article 2.2. (b) - fit for purpose; Article 5.1 - two year guarantee.
I don't see any reason why this directive should not apply to cars as consumer goods.

The most likely source of a leak in this area would be through the radio aerial - I'd rule that out first as it'll be the easiest fix.
