Mondeo Passenger Air Bag - Andrew Velcro
Hello

Is it safe to place a baby seat on the passenger seat of a 2001 Mondeo. I know that if there isn't enough weight on the seat the airbag won't go off, but is this safe. Any ideas or views are welcome.

The seat has a sensor to avoid the airbag deploying if a very young child is sitting in the seat though this is not designed to allow rear facing bay seat to be used in the front passnger seat. An airbag can be lethal to a baby in a rear facing seat, it is NOT worth the risk.

The handbook is clear in this regard I am sure, if unsure RTFM!

Quite interested in this. I am an 02 Mondeo and was wondering if there was any way I could get the passenger bag deactivated? Is there any way I could get a switch retro fitted maybe?
