HI

If I pay a deposit on a new car and use my credit card, Should I decide to cancel the deal would I be entitled to a full refund?

why would you want to enter into a contractural obligation with a get out clause that someone else pays if you change your mind.?

Say you lost your job..or found out something very negative about the car that you were unaware of. In other words a genuine reason. Its just that some dealers have increased deposits to around 1500 quid..which I feel is a lot to loose in such circumstances...After all they will sell the car to someone else

Finding something negative about the car is one thing; terms of deal nullified. Credit card company will probably be supportive of a disputd x/action. Loosing your job is not the seller's, or the bank's, concern.

Credit card is irrelevant to this situation - you need to agree with the the dealer the liability, if any, on cancellation.
