MGF Boot problems - Richie_green

Hi

We are having problems accessing the boot and engine bay of our MGF.
The car is with a mechanic and he has drilled out the lock and has said the problem is the cable which releases has come loose. They have tried everthing to get it including using metal coat hangars etc but just cant get it. They only have the hole the size of the lock to gain access so dont have much room.

Any ideas what we can do? I have suggested breaking the light and accessing this way but am not sure if you can gain access this way.
