Towing Electics 7->13 pin Adapter - mtbjeff
Quick question on tow bar electrics and converting between the standards.

My car has a 7 pin socket, but I am about to buy a bike rack with 13 pin electrics. Thule sell a 7->13 pin adapter but will I get all of the functions that I expect?

Your bicycle rack should only need lights which are all supplied by a 12n 7-pin.

I wasn't aware that they are fitting 13-pin plugs to bike racks - however, if you purchase the 7-to-13 pin adaptor everything should work as planned as they are all standardised with regard to wires and pin numbers. When I read this post my first reaction was to suggest buying buy a 12N plug and fit that to the cable on the bike rack - a good deal cheaper and worth a few minutes' work. If you need to know pin numbers and cable colours I can provide.
