Do you know if the fitment of an emergency auto-release mechanism is a legal requirement on garage forecourts on LPG nozzles.

A friend (Not an acronym for me), has just pulled away from an LPG pump without disconnecting the nozzle.

The attendant stated that the auto-release had not operated and there was damage to the car and the pump.

He asked me if I could find out if an auto release is a legal requirement but I have so far failed to find this information.

Any help would be appreciated.
