BMW series 2 tourer - Trying to replace rear wiper - Andrew Colombini

Followed manual about changing the rear wiper and it doesn't come down I took it to Halfords and they gave up....I followed the instructions as written by a person on this site, saying using the process of getting the front wipers to stop half way will also bring the rear wiper to rest mid screen, that doesn't work either.....any ideas

Putting the front blades into service mode , should put the rear into the same .
