Hello, gearstick feels like stirring porridge, gears all there if you know where to look, how do you make the repair to return to positive detent? Thanks, Mike.

Check the three gear selector rods,

But checking is most likely a formality.

usually replace all 3 and selector will be fine.

If I recall they're around £30 from peugeot.

The're ball socketed on either end,

Lever off then press new ones on.

Souldn't take more than 30 mins to do.

I couldn't tell you how many I've done.

What engine, MK1 or 2? By the looks of it, all 307s use cables rather than rods, as earlier PSA cars did. If it is cables, sometimes the end ferule falls off and causes the cable to flop about rather than activating the selectors. Access to this end of the operations is not all the easy on a 307, being buried under the scuttle panel!
