If a Diesel tunning box was fitted to a Volkswagen Tiquan and removed for servicing etc.

Would it be flagged up during diagnostic checks etc as one having been fitted recently etc. Read more

I had to fit a what you would call a "tuning box" to my big Yamaha to get rid of the the low speed driveability/rideability problems endemic to that year of production.

MamaYamaha overreacted to the emission rules for that year and the following model year leading to an extremely abrupt throttle response coming off idle to about 2000 rpm, - not what you need on a wet roundabout!...

First of all, unless coming up to my motorway exit, I never drive in what has become lane 1, and usd to be the hard shoulder.

I check everything I reasonably can on the car weekly, travelling or not.... Read more

Adaptive Cruise Control. An absolute godsend in these cases. Position yourself at a safe difference behind the car in front, enable ACC (ideally when moving at whatever the speed limit is), and let it track the car in front as it slows down or speeds up through the slow sections.

I've never had it before my current car, and from now on it's very high indeed on my list of desirable extras. It makes it so much less stressful when driving in start-stop traffic, or indeed for almost all driving where there's other traffic about.

Trying to find a car for a movement impaired relative and specifically trying to find seat heights for various vehicles. Anybody have any ideas where I can get this type of info?

Thanks... Read more

In case anyone wonders, RIDC is the Research Institute for Disabled Consumers. Could be a very useful website.

It's just the usual website directing punters to the correct site, filling in their details on that site and ripping a fee off them for the privilege.

If anyone is out car hunting this weekend or in the near future, please do yourself and the dealer a favour and make an appointment in advance. A large number of sales execs, and service advisors, have been hit with redundancy instead of being brought back from furlough, which means that staff headcount is down.

Add to that the requirement to sanitise cars on a regular basis, it would seem a shame to turn up to view new cars and not have someone available to assist you. ... Read more

To be honest I’m not a ford person. It was for my other half who’s had a couple of Fiestas both of which impressed me.
She’s had an Arona FR for nearly 3 years which has been a good car but looks a bit frumpy next to the puma.

Just done a shift down't Honda Accord ERG pit. Had a shower and need another one. Should have used gloves, and perhaps a Davies Lamp.

The original plan was to take the exhaust plenum off and wash it, but one of the coolant hoses is hard to get to and after some damage to other hoses I decided to leave it attached.... Read more

Code persists, so something other than plumbing clog is wrong. Perhaps the MAP sensor is mis-reading?
