Where is there a table, preferably with sortable columns, which details UK cars and their specifications (including such as power, weight, MPG, CO2 output, etc.? Read more
In an idle moment, had a look at the 'new' Punto Evo on the Fiat website.
These are some of the colours it comes in.....
Lyrical Grey
Acid Jazz Blue
Porgressive Black
and, best of all, "Easy Listening White"! Yes, Easy Listening White.
Can anyone beat that?

my car is a 2 axle rigid body
Engine revs surge, especially when cold. Car lurches when pulling away, sometimes to the point of stalling. Revs sometimes stay on when slowing down. Have had diagnostic & shows "Throttle position improbable" Dealer says it could be any of 3 components. Throttle position sensor, wiring loom or Air flow meter. Their solution, replace parts systematically, at my expense, until they find the fault! Anyone any experience or ideas pelase?
Also when driving normally the engine management light has flashed on & the engine stopped momentarily before returning to normal. No fault logged on computer & this has happened twice. Read more
If the problem is reasonable predictable and repeatable can they drive the car and monitor live data?
After years of scootering, I'm going back to the warmth and dryness of a car. I'll be using it 1-2x a week at 35miles a pop, on my own mostly.
I used to drive an N reg Corsa 1.4 for about 6 years, and it served me well. I'd probably look for something of a similar size again. Looks/cool factor aren't that important, reliability and economy are.
Of course, I want to spend as little as possible, but not so little I drive away with a pile of rust. What do you ladies and gents recommend setting as a budget for a car that'll get me from A to B reliably and cheaply for the next 3 years or so?
And any model suggestions? I'm being deliberately open minded to start with.
Thanks in advance. Read more

Years ago I bought a brand new H reg Vauxhall Astra out of British loyalty
and to support EP when times weren't good.
I mused about doing that in a thread a couple of mths ago.
I know it's just a boring mid-sized car but it doesn't seem interesting in any way. And the Corsa camshaft thread has really put me off - I'd be mortified if anything like that happened.
I am now doing daily lengthy commute between Luton & West London.
I was looking if I could share my journey with someone doing same/similar route. I registered my details with some car sharing websites, but absolutely no response (last 2 weeks).
Does this scheme actually work? Read more
Agree with you totally Mr Snail. Occasional lift is one thing but to be stuck with someone every day is a nightmare. You end up hating your passengers and they hate you and after a few days when all the small talk is exhausted you will all sit there in silence for the of the journey. You don't turn on the radio because it looks as though you don't want to talk to your passengers (which you don't!).
Hi people I've read a lot of heater issues on here but none fully match the problem I'm having.
So it's a 1.25 zetec. On Tuesday I noticed my heaters where only blowing cold air then half way home (driven about 5 miles) the temp gauge hit red. Had a look under the bonnet and the coolant was boiling away but not coming out.
AA came out 2 hours later and car had cooled down, he followed me home and all was fine. He said the thermostat could have failed to open and get it replaced.
I replaced it yesterday, put the old 1 in boiling water and it didn't open so figured that was it.
This morning the temp gauge never went past M so no problems there but now my heaters are only hot when driving as soon as I stop they blow cold.
We did lose some coolant changing the stat but I topped that back up.
I've noticed heater control valve mentioned a lot on here and wanted to know if any one has experience of this type of issue?
Thanks in advance.

sorry i said manifold when i should have said cylinder head!
I have a platinum grey Seat Leon FR with a personalised plate, I have noticed that idiots around my area keep on scratching my paintwork while its parked outside my home. It seems I can't keep a nice car where I live, I'm fed up with it now as I have 1 long scratch going along the drivers side through to the rear doors. Now I have some new scratches appear on the C-pillar on the drivers side. These are multiple directional scratches like someone has had a fight against it at some point, they are going down to the filler cap which also has scratches on it. I am fed up of it, snip. I am not getting such a new car next year as I am worried about the idiots scratching anything nice again. I feel like having an old Rover instead as it is a real shame that you can't own anything nice these days.
The scratches are starting to make the car look very unsightly & its going to ruin the re-sale value, it seems that once someone scratches your car, it becomes a target for others then they start adding more & more. I don't have the money to repair these scratches professionally as they cost £200-300 to put right so Ive tried rub-in - rub off scratch removers, they don't work at all. I am thinking about laquering/re-praying the whole C-pillar myself as its got that bad but I'm worried about re-spraying it myself, I am doing it through a mix/match aerosol. I do not want to use sandpaper as its going to worsen it. Does anyone have any experience? any hints ot tips on self-spraying? Like I said I would get it done professionally but its the cost. Please help! Read more
read the posts 3 times now and unless mine eyes do offend me to pluck them out nowhere do i read anywhere what your post refers to mr tee
Fiesta would not start up Monday night without a lot of revs and then the engine would tick over normally, then the revs dropped and it died.
Spark plugs needed changing anyway so got that sorted.
Started up with a bit of a cough yesterday but then stalled three times as I was driving along, twice in second gear and once in third (although the engine did come back to life that time.)
Please can anybody give me some ideas of where to look at next, either stuff I can check or what to make sure the garage are checking, before I end up with a huge bill...
The engine sounds fine other than this. Could it be the idle control valve or something wrong with the fuel injection?
Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks for this info.
I was a bit confused about the exact engine type because it's a 94 L reg but was manufactured in December 1993. The mechanic said he thought it could be the carburetor itself but then I read somewhere else that this engine does not have a carb!
I'm taking it to a friend to have a look at, we'll start with the connectors and take it from there I guess...
In order to keeps luxury car looking hot and trendy it is important to carry out detailing from time to time. People that regularly service their auto's technical and body parts are familiar with car polish and wax products used by all details to bring back the glossy surfaces. The polish contains certain mild abrasives or other substances that cause chemical reactions such that in the end it makes the painted surfaces appear soft and glossy. Read more
