I am considering buying an Accord 2.4 Executive saloon (approx 2004/5) , but would like to know if the rear seat can be folded down to extend the boot area. I know there is the estate version, but personally I don`t like the shape at all, so it has to be the saloon or nothing.
Thanks for any feedback. Read more

Thanks for your helpful replies, whilst I hold Honda engineering integrity in high regard, I have decided to go for a BMW E46 325i manual Touring, only problem being that sub 30k mileage vehicles are now extremely scarce.

Having nothing better to do I checked some of the reg. nos. in What Car. Many of the numbers come back as having no record.

Using the August 2007 issue:-

The MB C class shown on the cover; the number shows no record.
The Alfa non-date number on page 3 shows no record.
The Fiat non-date number on page 21 shows no record.
The Jaguar non-date number on page 29 shows no record.

Why do they do this? I would have thought that all the major manufacturers would have an ample supply of genuine non-date numbers.

Should I report them to BetterDrivingPlease.com? ;-) Read more

I'll make two cars race each other that were shot on different days, I'll move mountains if they distract from the text, delete lamp posts, pylons, passers-by, snow and grey skies. I'll make a stationary car look like it's cornering at 90mph, turn a two-door Citroen into a four-door and I've even been asked by an editor in chief to change a black kid in a child seat into a white kid. When I've finished with them a technician spends another couple of hours fiddling with the colour balancing and profiles, so very little in the magazine looks anything like what it did when it comes to me."

As a regular reader of that mag, I can hereby confirm all those tricks actually work. Apart maybe from that black Mondeo estate from the last issue, on the cover. Ford main dealer's plates begin with "WU" instead of "CIN", so...

Well, I've finally ordered one!

Expecting delivery late October. I didn't feel too excited at first but now I cant wait!

I went a bit mad with the options list as Audi seem to have taken a lot of things that used to be standard on the old model and put them on the options list. Clever Audi!

I've opted for the fancy magnetic suspension, although I have no idea if the standard option would have been good enough unfortunately.

I went for a silver one in the end with the red leather seats (not too red, real nice deep colour)

Slight tweak to subject line lest it be confused with the other TT - it fooled me ! - PU

Bit on the cheeky side aren't they?

£25k car with no metalic paint, steering wheel controls, electric seats, mirrors or cruise control.

Plus £150 to be able to plug the ipod in....

i have an old motorcross bike

the manual states that the gearoil should be 20/40 multigrade motor oil

I have loads of 10/40 or 15/40 laying around will that be close enough? am i right in thinking it will just be thinner at cold temps vs the correct grade Read more

Hi all, Im currently looking at a Seat Ibiza 1.4 (75bhp) 54-reg & a Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 8v 56-reg which are both about the same price which is just over £6k.
Which one should i choose, considering i've yet to test drive these cars. I have sat in both of them & was impressed with their driving positions as they're much better then the new Clio i sat in.
I like the new corsa but it's out of my price range unfortunately, but i do like the interior etc.

I'll be trading in my 03-reg Fiesta on purchase.

I think I have just seen a record price - £195 to release your car from a clamp, undisclosed amount if they 'tow'. The immediate area has just been re-vamped with up-market shops and the pub carpark is next to the public carpark. People have used the carpark when in the pub attached and got a ticket from the bar to prove they had been there. The carpark is now only for pub residents. I feel a lot of aggrieved patrons will miss the notice as they do as they always have done in the past! Read more

I'm still more than happy with my new CR-V apart from a couple of small gripes; I don't like that the interior (hard plastic) trim scuffs so easily. I've never, ever, experienced this before. The vehicle's about 4 months old and it already looks well used around the lower interior doors and dash. Any tips for 'renewing' the surface? We don't have kids or pets either, just mother and me and we're veeery careful.

The other irritations are in heavy rain, we get a steady drip..drip..drip noise somewhere around both B (door) pillars. I can't see any leak but the steady dripping noise just drives me mad.
Finally, the drivers wiper drags a sheet of water from the A pillar at least halfway over the windshield on the return stroke, anyone else notice this?
Otherwise, it's great.

Cheers, Bill

My late uncle Bill owned a Vauxhall Wyvern. The rainwater drained from the roof through the door pillars and sills. One of many reasons Vauxhalls acquired the bad reputation for premature MOT failures.

Hi All,

I am after some help i have with a problem with my wife's 106 diesel.
I went to start it yesterday but when i put in the four digit immobiliser code both green and red lights stayed on, can these units totally pack up or is it more likely to be a wiring fault? also is there a way to by pass it and do away with it altogether?

Thanks,

While topping up my C-Max's coolant today, I accidentally spilt some onto the top of the coolant tank, which dripped down into the engine. It wasn't an enormous amount.

Is this anything to worry about, or do I need to do anything about it like rinse it off?

Why do they make the refill orifices so hard to get to, even with a funnel?

Both Longlife and Normal antifreeze (either PG or EG based) are supposed to have a high pH (>10) ie. Alkaline, when in a 50/50 mix with water. If the pH is the reason for the paint discolouration (which I suspect it is) then will still discolour paint. But at pH 10 - 11 I guess you have to leave it on there for some time (hours). Should be a warning on bottle not to spill on paintwork. The pH of your antifreeze is a way of telling if it has had it, if it drops down to lower values then it is time to change it.
