osr cluster and it was green,

but its not there in the 216.

not in fusebox, or in bay.

anyone know?

Lower track control/steering arm - inner rubbers or bushes

Having a 206 and had a mk4 escort and anyone knows these bushes used in these cars or any other with the same, they don't last long. These bushes use a vertical bolt through them on the frame mounting. My ZX use's bushes with a horizontal fixing.

So as my wifes car is coming up for replacement shortly. I don't want the same idea as suspension as these on the next car.

Anyone know if the 207, 307 or the new Corsa has the same bushing or different. Read more

Many cars have suspension bushes that are firm in one direction but soft in another - the softness doesn't lasat particularly well.

It would be easy to make bushes outlast the rest of the car but the suspension would transmit every road irregularity and be very uncomfortable.

Polyurethane bushes are available as replacements if you want sports-type suspension.

Any other owners of cars with these fitted lost an end cap from one of their blades?

I could have sworn it was there yesterday but today I've got one missing. It's not that they're easily removed either - fitted quite tight. Can't think anybody would want to nick one. Read more

What is the site that links a registration number to a car. You guys have informed me before, but I can't locate it in favourites. I was fairly confident that it was an R.A.C. site, but so far to no avail.

I have seen today on show at an out of town outlet centre the most garish, obscene car I have ever seen, it was huge with the most enormous wheels and tyres, enormous grill, garish chrome etc. .................the car, a Chrysler 300 C. Read more

Hi
Can anyone advise on a problem I have with my Focus 1.6 zetec 99 T reg with 52k on the clock. When the engine is started from cold there is a loud squealing from the engine, which sounds like a belt slipping / squealing. After few minutes it seems to die down. The noise isnt noticable under acceleration, but recently the squealing noise has been accompained by a ticking or tapping noise, noticable when the car is stationary, ie at traffic lights (warm weather = windows down = noticing the noise). Has any one had the same experience or could offer advice?
Regards

could be an oil contaminated drive belt, have you got any oil leaks? check the aux drivebelts for slack and contamination!!!

Just been to collect the Hyundai Getz for the missus. Drove it back home (around 70 miles) and it was pleasant enough to drive on the motorway. Cruised happily at 70-80-mph, with acceptable level of noise for the class. A bit softer than the Fiesta Zetec it replaced and just didn't feel 'tight' (if you get my drift) like the Fiesta did.
I got it home and gave it the sort of examination that you should really do BEFORE you've bought it. (Hands up-I bought it while in a bit of a rush-not something I normally do). Lifted the drivers mat to gave a squeaky clutch pedal a squirt with wd40 and found a very thin and cardboard like carpet with a big bare patch from heel wear. (Car's got 28000m) Some stone chips that I hadn't noticed and the hard plastic trim seems to scratch easily.

Area of most concern is the service history. The car is direct from Hyundai Fleet and has been bought from a Hyundai main dealer. Two years three months old, sold with FSH and remainder of five year warranty. Service intervals for the car are 1yr/10000m, 2yr/20000m etc. Checked the documentation and found it had been first serviced at 1 year with 9800m (no problem so far). However the car has just been serviced prior to me collecting it, at 28000m and 2yrs 3months. The car has missed it's 20000m service and has even been late for the two year point. I'm now concerned where I stand with the warranty. Am I going to be expected to service it at 30000m?? Is the warranty void-full stop.

I will of course be contacting the supplying dealer to clarify, but thoughts/experiences would be welcome. Read more

We are well short of that age group. Car entirely bought on price and great specification. Our 1.4l engine should be pretty lively at the traffic light GP with 95hp once it is run in.

You may be able to help, I would like to get at the spark plugs of a Ford Fusion Duratec 1.6 engine. I can see two large bolts at the front of the air cleaner and what appears to be three small bolts along the rear of the case with the heads pointing downwards. These three bolts are not easy to access, do they have to be undone? If not what else has to be done to access the spark plugs? I have tried Haynes and they have not been able to help.
Thanks

Undo the two 10 mm bolts, move the right hand duct and undo the left hand R clip. You can do this by prising it apart gently with a small screwdriver, the air cleaner body wil then come off.It is held on at the back with two rubber mountings if these are a bit stiff gently lift the front of the air box and squirt some wd40 inthe general direction of the mountings, you should then be able to lift the air box assembly off.

Need opinions to help me decide whether to keep our 54-plate c-Max 2.0 TDCi Zetec with 21k, or swap it for an 06 plate Mondeo 1.8LX with 12.5k.

Both immaculate condition, both Ford direct cars

Both suit our needs

c-Max averaging 43mpg, mondeo fuel comp says 29.9mpg

<10m000 miles per annum

c-Max 1 pervious local private owner

Mondeo previously a rental car

no £ to change - straight swap Read more

Cool, many thanks for the replies - you have confirmed my decision to keep the max is the right one.
