Looking for recommendations for a good decent car battery. The battery is to go into a 406 1.9 TD & will be mostly used by my wife to take herself to college & 2 of our kids to school. It will do no more than 8 miles a day MON-FRI with a distance run every other month. I'm thinking heavy duty but other peoples recommendations readily accepted.

I have a 2002 CR-V which has lost one of the demisting lines due to a 2mm section that has fallen out of it. I would usually live with it, but this one is directly in line of site, so i was wondering if there is a way repairing the line without replacing the whole back window.
many thanks

Done and done. £7.00 from maplin, followed by a freezing session with a shaved matchstick and a hairdryer, and the bar is working perfectly. Silver spot looks a little odd from the outside, but thats my OCD and i will have to deal with it.

White smoke usually indicates an injector timing problem. If it is definitely linked to the work you had done take it back.

Why oh why is there a distinct lack of humour on this site?
And why do I get told off for having a laugh, its like being back at school...
Fed up with having to watch every word I type:(

On the whole people come here to discuss and share information. They do not want to sift through reems of BS and silly banter to find it.
And why do I get told off for having a laugh,

It's called forum rules & policies. Others are able to read and comply with it. Why should you be the exception?

That is not my problem if you're unable to refrain from posting something inappropriate.
Discussion over. Locked.
Many cars are made by other manufacturers like skoda and seat are. VW people dont like them, but they should realise they're VW underneath. They should be given more credit.
A friend of mine has a Skoda Fabia vrs tdi - what a car. Superb build quality and great to drive.
A lot of people buy the Audi A3. I don't know why. They're identical cars. They tend to think the badge is more better. Well they're the fools for thinking that.

how Do you position the berlingo partner then !
Please can anybody whether I can fix the following simply at home or whether it needs a garage?
I have a 1998 Ford Mondeo. The digital clock only works when I switch the lights on. As soon as I switch the lights off it turns off. On my previous Mondeo this never happened.
I mentioned it to my Ford Garage and they seemed mystified. As there could be a simple solution I thought I would post here!
Thanks

Did you get the info you need? It is pretty easy to be honest, just be prepared to scrape your hands up inside the door.
is it true car makers dont want you to know whats going on under the bonnet how the engine works is that why most new cars have to be serviced by the main dealer and everything is sealed on the engine do the electonic managements systems have things which prevent other car makers finding out what signals are sent you where i wonder if they break other car makers cars up and see how they work and copy it slightly do the japanese do this and other car makers and spy on each other

"Ford was much more advanced in understanding production cost accounting compared to BMC"
Didn't Ford dismantle a mini and declare in uneconomic to build and sell at the price?
I remember a Ziebart man telling me that discussions with Ford on the subject of rust prevention (they were even more rust-prone then) fell apart when it turned out that the amount of extra expenditure that Ford were contemplating was of the order of 17p per vehicle!
Their bean-counter tendencies were nicely exposed by the case of an employee who was sacked for doing a 'Johnny Cash' on a Cortina, having been caught smuggling the bits home. They wanted compensation for the retail value, but quickly back-pedalled when the real manufacturing cost became the focus of attention!

Unipart give you a guarantee, that is LIFETIME - all the time it's fitted to the vehicle.
