The new advert for the C2 VTR (the one where is he is walking on his hands) has a bit at the end where he climbs through the window and pulls away demonstrating the gearshift paddles.

But when he pulls away it sounds as though he is driving a ferrari rather than a citreon C2.

Anyone like to confirm or deny that the C2 exhaust note sounds like the one in the advert, or have they just nicked the sound of a ferrari 'cause the C2 sound hasn't got enough grunt ?

I have just ordered a new car and have an old Proton MPi 1.5 SE Automatic saloon to dispose of. The new car is due delivery on 1st March and I need my old car until then for commuting to work etc. I kept it out of the deal on the new car because it may have soured the deal. Its a 1993 model and has 82k on it and has tax and mot until end of September Its in pretty good condition overall.

Is it best to stick it in the local admag? AS regards value I was thinking in the region of £300. Read more

You could use the car as a moving advertisement as well. An A5 sized advert placed on either side of the rear door windows with the price and phone number.

Do worn drop links make noises when riding over the down bit of a speed hump? Citroen C5 16k miles.

Could a noise be different if only one wheel was on the hump?

When I drive over a speed hump with both wheels, I get a knocking noise at faster speed hump speeds, if I can make one wheel miss the hump, it is silent.

Thanks Read more

I would suspect the drop links to be your problem, they seem to be virtually service interval parts by the numbers of queries that come up concerning them on this site! You may aswell replace them anyway, a DIY job with 2 nuts a side, 10 mins a side and £10 a side parts

Thinking of taking my carvan {23 foot, plus 16 foot Volvo} through Ambleside in the Lakes on Easter Monday, en route from Coniston to Keswick.

Anyone had experience of the traffic {North bound} on an Easter Monday thro' Ambleside ?

Don't fancy taking the Caravan over the kirkstone Pass, the M6 is a long way around and via Sellafield even worse !

Could wait 'till the Tuesday though.

Anyone know what happened of talk of a by-pass for Ambleside?

I'll have a look on google myself.

LongD - I know what you are saying, but technically the A592 and the back road where the bus crashed meet just below the Kirkstone summit, so both roads are 'the K.Pass' - in fact the road out of Ambleside is Kirkstone Road. The A592 leads to Windermere, and I suppose the bus wanted to go to Ambleside so took the direct route.

My seldom used Audi A4 1.6 (1995 68000 miles) has developed a tickover akin to a London bus when warm - fine when cold! Also the back footwell has filled with water for no apparent reason. Any thoughts appreciated. Read more

Check the breather pipes and emmission vales are not chokes with emulsion due to lack of use during the winter. Refuel and treat the fuel with a decent injection cleaner and see how that goes. Check all pipes and use a small bore plastic pipe, like wasrer nozzle pipe to listen for and air leaks sucking in. Come back. Regards Peter

Hi all had first accident in 2years of trouble free driving, just finished 2year new driver probation as well, sods law eh??. I was going round a mini roundabout the sort you see in all the retail parks, indicating right was about to exit when BANG car hits me on drivers side door. Car had no lights on just reversed and sped off. Drivers door badly dented but able to shut it can only open from the inside. Chassis were teadplates go looks very distorted and frame on lower edge of car out of shape. Doors out of line obviously but car driveable. Got reg of other car and went to police, car used locally in various crimes they cant do owt unless driver caught at time. Looks like i have lost ncb for something i was not at fault for. Do you reckon the car is a right off?? Glad i am ok just fed up that the honest motorist is the one that pays AGAIN for the plebs. Luckily had two witnesses. How long do these things take to sort out just worried because looks like my ins co wont be able to trace other driver.. Any suggestions much appreciated Read more

"Luckily had two witnesses"
Hate to put a dampener on this but your description of your accident sounds exactly what happened to my son in a Cinema/fast food/bowling complex a few years ago. His two witnesses were security guards outside a bar. The car that hit him was a taxi. Witnesses said at the time that the taxi drove straight into him when it was his right of way. Good eh? Except that when the insurance company contacted the witnesses they had strangely changed their story to my son having driven out in front of taxi causing the accident. Son's "pride and joy" (he was a student and had worked v. hard in holidays to save up for it) Renault 5 was "written off" for about £150. Always wondered whether taxi driver had given witnesses a few quid which was cheaper than his insurance excess would have been. But then my son didn't feel like challenging the honesty of two "bouncers". (Nor did I! and to proceed throiugh courts would have been rather expensive and probably a waste of time - word of 3 against 1).
Good luck XD - hope it turns out for the best - some good advice in posts above

If that is the name for them. I had never come across these before, until on buying a tyre last week the fitter remarked that it had to go on with the rotation in the direction of the arrow. He said these were becoming very common now.
