What will get rid of pattern marks on my windscreen?

My car has patterning on the windscreen when wet - the wipers don't get rid of it. I assume it's from polish used by the car cleaners. Can you suggest anything to get rid of the patterns?

A good quality glass cleaner like Rain-X or a glass polish like Autoglym Glass Polish, applied inside and out, should clear it up.
