Is £4000 reasonable to repair a 2004 MINI convertible roof?

My neighbour has a 2004 MINI Convertible. The electronic roof made an almighty bang while she was retracting it and one of the rods has snapped. The local Sytner garage has quoted £4000 for repair, which seems excessive to me. Is this a realistic quote?

£4000 is for the whole roof. Find a convertible roof specialist to fix the broken part of the existing one. There are some in useful websites under Ask HJ, but you can find others by Googling.
