Importing a car from Switzerland to the UK

I have been living and working in Switzerland for seven years and am returning to the UK. Due to highish mileage (180k km) there is little demand for my car in Switzerland, though I am happy to keep driving it (even though its left-hand drive). Most of the advice on the internet seems to relate to importing cars that are being purchased, as opposed to being already owned. Please can you advise me on the hoops I have to jump through to import it?

Just not worth it because it is worth considerably less here than it is in Switzerland. You would have to convert to left dipping headlights, mph speedo and right hand side rear fog. Certificate of Conformity to EC Type Approval should be obtainable. £55 first registration fee. But very heavy first year VED. Just not worth it.
