Idle problem following jump start on a Peugeot 307

I have a Peugeot 307 XSi 2.0 on a 51 plate, and following a little crisis at home, left the keys in it and flattened the battery. Jump started it off the neighbours car and went to work. The car kept stalling in between gear changes, but the battery was charging. Charged the battery that day, put it on, it starts okay, but wont idle until its been run for a while and up to operating temperature. Even then, its now quite as good as it was, seems to want to lose idle revs (if that makes sense).

Someone told me you shouldnt jump start modern cars, and that Pugs are bad for frying the ECU if you do - but as she runs/drives/pulls okay, I'm hoping its a simple issue I can fix myself.

Well given that you have removed the battery, would suggest you try the following:

1. Make sure the battery is fully charged.

2. Disconnect the battery from the engine.

3. Leave for a few minutes.

4. Re-connect the battery BUT DO NOT switch anything on at all.

5.Leave for 30 mins.

6.Then re start the engine.

Hopefully this should have allowed the ECU to reset itself and then allow the engine to run correctly.
