Which car tyre inflator is best?

Can you recommend a car tyre inflator? Most seem to be rubbish and I'm wasting lots of time (and fuel) going to filling stations to inflate my tyres!

The one we'd recommend based on quality would be one of the newer series of Ring inflators. We've tested both the older models and the newer ones and we think the newer ones feel and look much better quality, although they're more expensive because they're newer, obviously, and they offer faster inflation. We've reviewed both the Ring RTC200 and RTC1000 Rapid Inflator, which are linked below. The main differences, other than the price, are inflation time and the screen.

The RTC200 (£20) can inflate a 13-inch tyre from 0 to 35PSI in less than 4.5 minutes, powered straight from the in-car 12V socket, while the RTC1000 (£35) is capable of inflating a flat tyre on a 13-inch wheel to 35Psi in just two minutes from the 12v socket in your car. It comes with spare dust caps and a set of latex gloves, plus a spare fuse. The 1000 offers a digital screen too, while the 200 only offers analogue.
