Diversion from A614 onto A1(M) northbound at Blyth

Diversion from A614 onto A1(M) northbound at Blyth - L'escargot
I understand that because of roadworks on the A614 you can't (at the moment) get from Bawtry directly onto the A1(M) northbound at Blyth roundabout. What is the diversion route?

Went that way mid-week. As far as I could see, there was a brief diversion through a Harworth industrial estate which will bring you out just before the motorway roundabout.

I was actually going north towards Bawtry but judging by the opposing traffic flow, the reverse was possible.

Not much help, but I imagine they would diverting through Retford if the r'bout is out of action, but Harworth is better bet as mentioned above.

I think I went there last saturday. I wasn't bad. I think it went behind a big powerstation or coal mine or some such industrial place.

Blyth has a power station and nearby Ellington was the last deep coalmine in the North East.

It closed in 2005, but you way well have seen the pithead.

There's also a large cement, or similar, works.

Hi there.....the road closes today from 9am and will be closed for 5 weeks. You can still access the A1 from the Blyth side though so you'd be diverted through Scrooby and Ranskill I suspect. Apparently you can still leave the A1 at that junction and go towards Bawtry without being diverted.

The OP is referring to Blyth in Nottinghamshire not Blyth in the North East.

One hell of a diversion via Ellington.
