Manifold - docdoc
The manifold gasket is blowing on my car (weeks before I plan to sell!!)

Any quick fix solutions eg. sealant or similar, or do I need to bite the bullet.

What car is it? How easy is it to get at to replace the gasket?

If I were buying a secondhand car and could see evidence of a bodge, I'd be looking for a price reduction to put it right properly. When I sold my last car, the rear box was just starting to blow. I replaced it with a cheapo Timax box. No chance then of being knocked down and I had a selling point.

If it is, then it shouldn't be too difficult. Assuming the bolts aren't all rusted!

If it is his Vectra, then more than likely it will be the latter. Not uncommon for one of the corner studs to shear off.
