Mitsubishi Carisma - demisting problem

Mitsubishi Carisma - demisting problem - Briant
I have an'R' Mitsubishi Carisma. It seems almost impossible to demist.
The car has air conditioning etc Done 62K miles, appears to run normally.
Can anyone help with my dilemma please?

I take it the recirculation button is switched off so that fresh air can enter the cabin?

If the air-con is on it will get rid of moisture,whether or not recirc is on;blocked drain somewhere in heater system?minute coolant leak?

In this period of low temperatures my A/C , as designed, is not operating even though the "in use" light is on.

My Ford screen solves my forward de-misting.

I'd change the pollen filter first if it's got one. Water leaks into the car will make it very heavily misted inside - are all the carpets dry? Failed matrix will also steam it up - but that's usually greasy, and smells!
