Older topics button. - David Woollard
Is it just me or has the Older Topics button gone?

It's just you.
Re: Older topics button. - Mark (Brazil)
no its not just you.

Also there are random threads insisting on showing "new" when there isn't.

BTW, you can get to the older topics. Select when near the bottom of your screen, then select "go to topic" instead of "go to top" and voila - old topic option.

Mark,
Select (what?) when near the bottom of your screen.

oh sod it, I'll try again.

select any topic near the bottom of your screen and then when you leave that topic, use the "go to topic" button rather than the "go to top" button and the older messages button will reappear.

Probably Martyn will have fixed it before I get this note right.

Also the number of posts on a particular thread seems to have gone wrong. It looks like its slipped a line. Problem with a lookup table? No idea how these things work actually just a wild guess.
Re: Strange things on t'Backroom - Mark (Brazil)
you've heard somebody use the phrase "lookup table" in a meeting, haven't you and you're trying to show off aren't you.......
Re: Strange things on t'Backroom - Stuart B
Hello Mark,

Not quite as ignorant as that, now pivot tables in Excel, they'm the biz.

Pivot tables are also those wobbly things in the bar late of a Friday night. This is getting dangerously off topic.

Mark,

I don't think I would ever accuse Stuart of that, he's very guarded with his exploits!

Actually your method (version 3a) does work to get back to the older posts. I thought Martyn might have them all down for a good prune prior to the new system.

I'm trying to think of a witty new login name for the big day.

What about 'David Woollard'?
Re: Strange things on t'Backroom - David Woollard
A possibility but perhaps too exposing after all?

Ah you've guessed John!

Witty or not, I bet there's a Citroen reference in it somewhere!

Re: Strange things on t'Backroom - Mark (Brazil)
The pivot tables don't bother me, its usually the swivel stools which get me....

Somebody taps you on the shoulder and you turn around to speak to them, forgetting you are on a swivel stool. Thus you have less than one nanosecond to greet them as you carry on spinning around past them knowing that either you will be back very shortly or you're gonna get dumped off in thelap of the large bloke next to you.

Mark

You obviously spend too much time in Brazilian bars!
