My wife\'s punto 55 sx has a misfire. When you depress the throttle from low engine rpm it really struggles spluttering and coughing. At mid to high rpm it\'s fine. It\'s bad when cold and only slightly better when hot. There\'s no water in the oil or oil in the waterand so I think the head gasket\'s ok. What could it be ? A lambda probe maybe ?

There's a good possibility you have a failing ignition coil.Further testing will be needed to establish which one.They cost about £40 from Fiat.
