The weight of the car is generally irrelevant as heavier vehicles use bigger tyres to cope with the weight - my diesel Touareg has a kerbweight of about 2,200 kg with normal tyre pressure of 33/33 with 43 psi being the full load pressures
On the contrary, if the weight was irrelevant, there wouldn't be seperate pressure ratings for (AFAIK) every car for light loads and heavy loads, just like my two vans and, as you've just pointed out, your Tourag(!). Though it may well be the case that a fatter tyre requires less pressure for the same weight than a more modest sized tyre.
As to whether or not the OP has misread, a Google search of Mercedes Benz E Class tyre pressures gave me this (from an MB dealer regarding a 2017 E Class) as the first answer,

So Barney, you have read the figures right enough!. I'm guessing the higher figure would be high speed with a full load though.
