MOT expires 18/12/2017.

If they cannot be bothered to have a new MOT for sale #, I would run away...The MOT history suggests minimal maintenance.

# this is so basic I would suggest there is a LOT of work required...And as the vendor is a dealer, suspect the worst.. ANY semi competent dealer would give it an MOT and advertise it with one..

Think the garage was intending to sell it with a full years MOT once bought, rather than MOT it now and sell it in a couple of months with 10 months MOT. The advert should have been better written though.

I thought for an 11 year old van (and 160,000 miles) the MOT history was very good. Only failures were for light bulbs and wiper blades. Although I would have checked these things before presenting it for MOT's, they are not anything to be worried about in themselves.

Advisories for worn tyres! How worn were they. Might have been on 3mm. Leasing companies refuse to change tyres untill 2mm!

No gaps in MOT history. Mileage increases every year.

My concern is that there was no mention of any service history. I would want proof that there is a decent service history with invoices.

Also the phrase "VERY GOOD ENGINE & GEARBOX" features on a lot of the adverts that garage has. Don't see that it means very much. Are they very good for an 11 year old van with 160,000 miles?

However as the OP has concerns about the garages reviews, then he should definately look elsewhere.

I'd certainly go and look at it, would be most interested in the service history, assuming this is the 2.5 Hilux Diesel engine it requires oil changes at 9 or 10k and cambelt off the top of me head is at 90k (check that), so that will need doing (depending on when the first one was done) in 20k or so, the 3 litre D4D is the easiest cambelt i've ever changed, not sure about the 2.5, might be worth getting a quote for that from a Toyota dealer so you know beforehand...i've found the main dealer to be cheaper than most indies on Toyota belt changes by the way if you don't want to DIY.

Looks straight enough to me, one owner, will come with full MOT if you pay the asking price they say but no doubt a bit of haggling room...i have no idea if its a good price or not, these vans don't go cheap unless there's a very good reason, and the same can be said for nearly all Toyota Industrial vehicles.

MOT history is acceptable, its only failed on the odd bulb and once for wiper blades, few advisories about tyres which is a very common thing unless you're OCD about the things like some of us here.
