  (I could do a Yellow pages routine but I'd rather have a recommendation.) It's for a small ding in the bonnet of my Cooper S - met with a large stone thrown up from the opposite carriageway of the M1. When I've got the dent sorted I'll be asking about who can do the paint touch-up job. :-)

  Hi could any one shed any light on this problem , when the car is cold the box changes through all the gears with no problem at all , but soon as the car is at normal operating temp the box does not change into the top gears .I would be very grateful for any suggestions thank`s....................

  The handbook for my wife?s 1996 Fabia 1.2 petrol recommends that to maintain the air conditioning it should be used once a week for 5 minutes on AC with the fan speed on the highest setting. Does it make any difference if it is set on hot or cold for this purpose?.

  Just been looking at another forum and (sigh) yet *again* a young lad with a new common rail Grande Punto thinking of running it on cooking oil. You try to post advice but its ignored, such is the focus on doing it. why? Do you think there`s just just *no awareness* and the fuel injection system and pumps can only be visualised as a plastic squeeze bottle? Regards

  I was wondering what the BR's experiences of the Mazda 6 are, as I have read on a couple of reviews (online) that there has been some issues with the model, and wondered if these were just one-offs, as the car seems to perform well in JD power and Top Gear surveys...I would be considering a model out of warranty which is the reason for my concerns... s

  The noise only occurs when your foot is off the accelerator and the clutch pedal is in. No noise on tick over or when revving in neutral. Your help appreciated. s

  It did also struggle "under load" ,was in 5th gear and it wouldn't pull dipped clutch to change down and engine stalled, hard to start again. Any help much appreciated. s

  Driving up the M1 yesterday I saw a nice black AMG Mercedes carrying the registration SIDDIK. Clearly it had been 'messed about' but what would it have been issued as. I don't think S 10 DIK would have been issued - for obvious reasons! Any ideas? I am too dim to work it out myself!

  The Laguna 2's quality problems have been well documented on various forums. My question is did the 'face lift' of 2005 do anything to improve the quality and reliability of the car. I am looking at a very reasonably priced 2006 1.9dci and have in mind this particular engines history of Turbo/intercooler failing and engine distruction.

  brother just rang , his astra is making a tinny noise from somewhere along the exaust sytem ( thinks its front) more noticable when hot , is the cat on its way out or could it be a loose heat shield , its only just been MOT,d and the emmisions were all correct , 60k on a s plate ...thanks {Car details changed, as indicated by the OP - DD}

  I Have a 2004 Nissan Primera 2.2 dci which has done 42,000 miles, just recently on start up the tickover has become uneven. The rev counter flutters up and down, not drastically but you do feel like it`s going to stall. If you flip the accelarator once or twice it will settle down to an even tick over. Any ideas please Thanks

  I´m back in the UK to pick up the car this time, as Mrs Barchetta´s tour is over. Any nasty roadworks/ bits to avoid on this route? I´m in no particular rush. Ferry is ´booked´ for 1515 but I would imagine I can jump on a later one. The A1(m) is easier for me to access than the M1, so I was thinking going A1-A14, past Stansted, M25 and round that way.
