  Hi all, im a fairly new driver and bought my first car which is a ford fiesta 96 encore 1.3. its in great condition for age and drives fine. The only issue i have just come up against, is recently when i start the car the blowers come on automatically event though the switch is set to 0 on the panel, the heating side is fine i.e. it warms up and cools down with the thermostat on the panel.

  I'm not that familiar with this engine and just wondered whether it's recommended that the water pump should be changed at the same time, please?  Obviously, a full cambelt kit would be used. Ford give the recommended life of the belt on this engine of 150,000 miles!  Wow!  I thought the 100,000 miles for the belt on my Mondeo was pretty good, but 150,000!  Is this the highest recommended figure given by any manufacturer for any engine, I wonder?

  I went to several breakers and te sunroofs from Mk3 Fiestas are too big. Methinks now someone fitted a non genuine one but it also conforms to the size of an earlier Ford sunroof Type D. The Fiesta is a now a fair weather car but winter is coming ... any ideas of where I could find the right glass?

  Hi, whilst looking at a few bargain basement cars at local forecourt the seller there told me about a Ford Ka he had just got in.  I went to view it out the back where it is waiting some preparation, and it does look nice, but I noticed the following 1) it has had a recent window broken, there is glass on inside 2) it is currently on private plates which will be changed prior to sale So given that by the time it is on the forecourt it will have been "sanitised" and that the plates on it will be of origin unknown at moment,  how do I check its identity?

  This has got progressively worse especially if reversing uphill putting load on the clutch. There is no noise if reversing downhill. It has been into Ford dealership 3 times and they have cleaned the brake discs - no effect. Today I returned to the dealership and drove another similar age Ka which made a similar noise but not as loud or noticeable. Has anyone else experienced this?

  Hi help lol i have recently bought a ford ka 2002 fitted with a duratec engine the heater control valve had been replaced but only blowing hot air (before apparently it would only blow cold),how ever the prob i have at the mo is the engine is rumming hot (overheating ) and when left it looses water (looks to be in the area of the thermostat) im wondering if thermostat could be stuck closed but would i get hot air through the heater if this is the case ????

   Does anybody know if it is possible to purchase a new key and chip from flea-bay, have it cut (I have figured out the T-number) and reprogramme the new chip myself using the old key?  I have been to the local Ford dealership and been quoted £140+ and same from the local auto locksmith.  As my car is only worth just a bit more than that, I am not so keen on shelling out that sort of cash, if I can do it myself.

  Hi there. I have a old r reg ford fiesta. When I start the car the heater will blow cold and I can drive for hundreds of miles with it blowing cold, but if I turn off the car and start again if engines hot it will blow out hot through the heater and won't change temperature by turning the temp dial....

  Looking for help. My ford mondeo 2.0 tdci 2006 had no power earlier today. A jump start got me running but the coil looking light is now flashing. I drove the car 20 miles and it didn't charge the battery, still completely dead with the exception of dashboard lights which come on.

  V5 does not list it as a TDCI...Some paperwork from previous garage Service Reports list it as TDCI The info info I have got from Ford ETIS lists the engine as a Duratorq  DI-HPCR (115PS) Lynx . I have a feeling this is a early form of TDCI on an older style engine.  Can anyone give further info?

  I pulled into a car park and called breakdown service and was towed home. The car has been diagnosed by Ford as needing a new short motor which will cost £3750 and they are claiming the fault has originated in a spark plug and ruined the engine from there. As such they are refusing my claim on the warranty.
