  Hello,   I've got a Mark IV Ford Fiesta (1997, 1.3 Endura-E engine) that's over-revving pretty badly at startup. It only does it when it's cold, but it really screams for 30 seconds or so before the revs start to drop. After a long drive once it's warmed up it goes back to starting and revving perfectly.

  I've currently got 205/50/17s on my Ford Focus 55 2.0 Titanium which is a pain during the winter at any sign of slush or snow. Only on our estate, the main roads are fine. I did give some consideration to buying a smaller set of steel wheels and swapping them for Winter and it was recommended to go for 205/55/16s which seem to be one of the options my car could have had.

  Hi all.  I have a 2007 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi, with 64k miles (90% motorway driving at 70-80mph). The car has basically been 100% reliable since I bought it when it was nine months old, but recently it has starting 'hestitating' during driving.

    However I am just greeted by a shrug of the shoulders, and of course, as a conscientious motorist I want the battery fully checked out for winter.  . Any comments?  I have tried other ford franchises in Nottingham. NB: The car is now 8 years old but performs very well, hence my keeping it.  (Not to mention that it is a better fit in my single garage than the larger bodied versions of the same make and model and later year).

  Hi i purchased a used ford focus from evans halshaw last year in march it is still under warranty until march 2013 and has doen less than 30,000 miles I drove it off the forcourt and it juddered like mad so took it back and they had it for a full week and gave me the car back, informing me it was nothing wrong on the diagnostics, but they had changed the spark plugs.

   On the last occasion the recovery guy checked the plugs and there was no spark (until it was bumped!) Two ford garages and one local have been unable to locate any fault - although the first one said that the coil pack was showing a fault in the engine log so they replaced that.  It had no effect although after the second breakdown they replaced the coil-pack again (again to no effect since it broke down a couple of weeks later).

  Just looking for a few comments on wether this is a good deal or not. Been offered a Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 TDCI - 06/2006 with 70,000 miles for £5350. The car was an ex-government car, probably not a patrol car as it's silver. It has been registered since November 2006 and since then had five Ford services.

  Hi. Ive recently bought a Ford Fiesta Flame 1.4 53 Reg from a local garage. The car was a finance repossession from the previous owner. The car only came with 2 normal keys so i went into my local ford dealer to see if they could find out if my car did have remote central locking.

  I purchased it in May this year as a "nearly new" with 13,500 miles on it and it was serviced by the (non-Ford) car dealer at purchase. I checked with my local Ford dealer to see if the extra 1,000 miles over and servicing at a non-Ford garage would be ok as far as the warranty was concerned and they said it was ok, no problem.

  Ford have announced today that they’ve been given permission to offer hands free motorway driving in their Mustang. Instead of the current situation whereby the car with a self steer function gets you to put your hands back on the wheel after a few seconds, now it’ll use existing driver awareness cameras to monitor the driver and permit hands off on motorways.

  It's not a massive site though you see the maintenance people running round in vans, all diesel, with offerings from VW, Toyota, Ford & Renault. They range from 2011 - 2016 & shuffle about the site on very short distances. I assume they all have dpf's & it's always fascinated me if they have any problems. l recently had the opportunity to speak with a couple of the drivers & the manager of the site, who stated they haven't experienced any issues with dpf's.
