Direct Line rescued car to local Ford dealer After three days local Ford dealer issue "preliminary" report after inspection - "cam belt tensioner has gone but it is not the original belt" - so no question of assistance with cost from Ford.

    On the road, the drive isn’t anywhere near as poor as I was led to believe by some comments on this forum. Ok, the steering doesn’t have the directness of a Ford, and there is some body roll, but certainly no worse than the roll I experienced in the B Max.  There’s plenty of power for round town, despite the limitations of a 99bhp 1.3 engine, and on the motorway the Jazz will cruise comfortably all day long.

  Been informed, via Ford main dealer, that vehicle requires a replacement engine due to head gasket issue[ 50000 miles]. I have read up on the issues with these engines, including the ones on this forum...I am considering the legal route, and believe that a 'class action' would add weight to a claim against Ford.

    Does anyone know what the difference in performance etc. is between the Ford Focus 2011- 1.6 ti-vct (105bhp) engine and the Ford Fiesta 2008- 1.4 94bhp engine? I know that the 1.6 in the Focus is variable cam but what about the 1.4 in the Fiesta? I own this version of the Focus and find that it can lack power especially on the hills!!
