  The paint on the roof of my 2009 Ford Focus seems to have developed a case of paint acne. Some of the paint has flaked off/melted and exposed the primer underneath. I have contacted Ford Customer Relations and am waiting for their reply.

  I know as a first driver I shouldn't be setting my sights too high as there's always the worry of a first accident. Someone suggested a 1.6 Ford Focus, but i'm cautiously considering that might be a bit ambitious for a first drive, but as a few instructors use this car to teach, perhaps not? I was taught to drive in a 2000's Vauxhall Corsa, and then my instructor changed to a new Peugeot 207.

  Hi again Thanks for all the recent replies when we were considering a Ford Focus for SWMBO last weekend. Bizarrely the car she's now decided she wants is a Toyota Avensis Mk2 (not much of a stretch there I know!) I'm quite happy with this though and having discounted the 1.8 vvti due to the well documented oil consumption problems once they hit 50K or so and the 2.0 simply because it's a bit thirsty we fancy the diesel.

  I was in it for 4 hours, no problem. Mazda offered me a car for up to 4 hours, as have Volvo, which I'm driving next week. Ford gave me an accompanied test drive for 10 minutes, and said that they won't do any unaccompanied drives. I thought that this might have been because they were a small dealer, but I tried another and got the same response.

  Following on from the "Lady" with the makup saga In my home town I followed this ford fiesta through the town and turned left to climb up a really steep hill that is on a main road. Halfway up the Fiesta dropped to 10mph, and then stopped in the middle of the road going up this steep embankment forcing me and all the cars following me to stop.

  There are a few problems and I wondering if I should put them right or send the car to the scrappers. It\'s a 1990 1.1L ford fiesta with 93K miles on the clock. The bodywork is sound, but the back box is about to drop off (£30 to replace). I changed the oil and air oil filters at the weekend - being a bit of a novice I think I might have made an error somewhere.

  There would appear to be contradictions as to which is the correct fluid to use. Both the Ford Handbook and Haynes Workshop Manual state the fluid used should be to Ford specification WSS-M2C204-A, which is a fully synthetic fluid and green in colour. However, on checking on Ebay with sellers who are also Ford Main Dealers, they inform me the correct fluid to use is to Ford specification WSS-M2C938-A, which is a semi-synthetic fluid and red in colour.
