New Company Car Time! Thoughts? 25 Nov 2005 (Forum)
;-) ) I've been given a fairly free reign of what I can have, so long as I stick with these rules: * Max spend £18k (can prob negotiate a few quid here and there, but not 000's) * Must have 4 doors * No more than 2.0 petrol or 2.2 diesel And thats about it! There were raised eyebrows at Alfa, so I guess thats a non starter - I ought to be keeping these guys happy till we've established a relationship! -

Firstly a bit of info on the car - I purchased it at the end of October from a Peugeot dealer. It had covered 43k and I am the 4th owner. It has full service history however I didn't realise until I collected the car that one if these owners was a car rental company. -
Six months with a Skoda 16 Jan 2007 (Forum)
missing? space is used up by a cubby and plastic covering for the seat mechanism so why no wide seats? It?s easy to get a good position behind the wheel likewise my passengers are comfortable too. The space in the back is much improved over the previous model although my daughter?s car seat still has to sit behind the passenger one. -

Jaguar S Type 1997 - Auto Trader "Quick Sale" 25 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Hi Everyone this is my first post. I have decided to sell my 25k miles 1997 S Type privately because the price I am being offered in part exchange sucks.Has anyone used Auto Trader "Quick Sale" or anything similar? It looks like a good way to get a fair mid market price.I know I might get a better price if I advertise it in the for sale pages but I don`t want to spend lots of time and effort with tyre kickers. -

Mazda Mazda 3 (2004 - 2009) - Mazda3 vs Focus 2 S/H ... 11 Jan 2010 (Forum)
OK, quick question - looking at a 3-4 year old Focus 2 1.6 diesel. The same engine is in the Mazda3, and the cars are a similar price s/h. So, is the Mazda more reliable than the Focus? If you do a search for problems in the Backroom for Focus, and 3, you get far more Focus ones! Of course that may be because more Focus' are sold, but still... -
Jaguar S-Type (1999 - 2007) - Gearbox-what can it do? 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Snow here tonight in North Devon and a colleague has a 55 plate 'S' type diesel Auto' Traction useless in these conditions. Now I have guessed (and a small wager) that the gearbox has some sort of tiptronic/manual function up the left hand side of the gate thereby allowing him to select a higher ratio from rest and giving more traction and/or being able to change up ealrier having the same effect. -
Find the evidence for a possibly botched job? pic 26 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I`m presenting the pic of the 1.9D again for a new test of detective work by the technically interested. It seems (not 100% sure)a bodge to me and there`s evidence of it if you click and expand the photo up to full size. It`s not the EGR blanking plate - it`s visible not hidden. I was going to present this as a straight technical debate on the issue but thought if it gives a little interest, why not do this first? -
Peugeot 205 (1983 - 1997) - 93 1769 N/S Inner Driveshaft Boot 15 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Peugeot Diesel 1769 non Turbo. Looking at my split N/S Inner Driveshaft Boot it seems like a straight shaft removal and slip the boot over the Inner joint from the inboard end using the Draper expansion funnel. However the Haynes manual reckons to unpeen the joint cover etc. -
BMW 3-Series E92 Coupe (2006 - ) - Replacement "normal" tyre pressures. 7 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Incidentally, I know H.J. is an advocate of RFT`s, but the improvement to the ride, steering control and reduction in road noise has totally transformed the car for the better. There is no question that in cold weather, RFT`s are positively dangerous with serious tramlining and bone shaking ride.
