  • Ford Focus CC (2006 - ) - ISOFIX 8 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Hi all I've recently purchased a one year old (2007) Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate. It didn't come with ISOFIX as standard but I paid the dealer to have it fitted retrospectively. The wife went to Mothercare earlier to buy the ISOFIX base for the seat and when the assistant looked up the car she said that they would not sell the base as the Focus doesn't have ISOFIX fitted as standard and even if it's been fitted afterwards it wasn't tested and therefore is likely to be unsafe.
  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - Service Intervals ? 26 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hi all - hope this (stupid question) makes sense ... Just about to buy an 07 plate Ford Focus 1.6 LX and it was last serviced at 12000 miles at 6 months old. It is now 12 months since this service but only done 5000 additional miles. Should I get it serviced straight away as it is 12 months since last service, or wait until car is 24 months old (or 24000 miles if I reach that first) ?
  • Ford Fusion (2002 - 2008) - 04 1.6 - Cambelt change intervals - under used car 1 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi - We are buying an 2004 04 Ford Fusion from our neighbour who can no longer drive due to disability. The car only has 4400 miles on the clock and I'm hoping this does not mean it will be prone to problems caused by under useage (anything I should check).
  • Ford - Mondeo TDCi issues 1 May 2008 (Forum)
Sorry for posting this again, hopefully in the Ford section now. I am normally given a Focus 1.8 Zetec for business trips but have had a Mondeo IV TDCi for the last few days. I was pleased to have this as I am looking for a Diesel to replace my own Petrol car, although not Mondeo size..
  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - Just done a pre MOT on a friends KA and shocked. 2 Mar 2008 (Forum)

I could take the hose off and take it to a shop but i need the car for work and it isn't really an option. Otherwise i'll have to buy a new hose from Ford and take the readings off that. Many thanks in advance. Carl.
  • Changing A 1998 Ford Fiesta Headlight 1 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Ive been searching the web for hours trying to find an answer for this but ive found nothing so I thought I owuld sign up to a few forums to se eif anyone could help. I need to change the passenger side headlight bulb on my 1998 ford fiesta zetec 1.25. It turns on to parking light OK but when I turn it up to my main driving lights it stays on the parking light. If I switch on full beam then it works OK. Ive bought a new driving light bulb but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get to the headlight housing as there is all sorts of engine chassis and tubes etc in the way.
  • possible sale of TD engine and Turbo 4 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Have had the miss fortune of crunching my car, I fear the insurers are going to write it off - but only due to damage repair costs exceeding value of car. I had a Ford Mondeo 1800LX turbo diesel. (L reg '93) I was thinking about seeing if I could buy it back from the insurers as I want a few bits of the car, but seriously thinking about trying to sell the TURBO DIESEL engine as the engine has only done just short of 57,000 miles (as FORD FACTORY EXCHANGE) and the turbocharger was replaced at the same time, and it runs like dream....

I have recently purchased a 55plate Ford Focus through Ford Direct. My main stipulation to the dealer was it had to be the 115ps version of the 1.6 engine. Fortunately the dealer had one on the forecourt, which he assured me was 115ps. I took the vehicle for a test drive, and put a deposit down.
  • Ford Fiesta 1.25LX Start & Running Probs 6 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Hi folks - first post, so please be gentle... I have been having problems with my 2001 Ford Fiesta 1.25LX, so I am hoping I can find some answers here. Here is a summary of the problems : 1. When starting from cold it now likes to try and stall by dropping the revs. A bit of deft footwork stops this usually and it settles down to a relatively steady idle after about 45 seconds. 2.
  • Programming a New Key - 2001 Ford Focus 15 Dec 2006 (Forum)

  • Ford Focus 52 plate 10 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hope you can help, I'm new to this forum, but it looks the the place to answer my query! I have a 2002 "52" plate Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec. The problem I have is a sort of rattle / knocking noise coming from the rear of the car. It is much less evident on smooth roads. I suspect it may be one of three things (but I may be way off!)
  • Mondeo alloy wheel corrosion ??? 6 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Many years ago I owned a beat up 10 year old Peugeot 205 GTi with flaking alloys - but a £22,000 Ford ? Looks like a rubbish wheel design, and poor manufacturing quality to me.....shame Ford won't admit it. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has had this problem on the Ghia X Mondeo.
  • Ford Focus - Jerky Throttle 23 May 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I have a problem that is more annoying than anything else. The car in question is a Ford Focus 99/V 2.0l 16v Zetec. When I am driving at a constant speed, say 70mph, and lift off the throttle for more than about 2 seconds, it is very jerky when throttle is reapplied. I have tried hundreds of variations in throttle use, from "flooring it", down to easing power back *very* gently and progressively, and *every* time the car "lurches" back on the power again (seems more noticable when at normal operating temperature).

  • Ford Focus - DIY pad change - uh oh! 21 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I don't want cheapo ones and if the more expensive ones mean better stopping power then so be it. Would going to Ford be the best option or are there better places to buy better pads?# Many thanks for any help offered, Adam
  • Ford Mondeo warranty 11 May 2005 (Forum)
I am looking to buy a Ford Mondeo tdci 130bhp Ghia. I have found a garage that has a 54 plate 9500 miles for £11599. This is the cheapest that I have seen by far. But I was at another garage who said there is no way I could get this price for a ghia.
  • Audi A4 or Ford Mondeo 8 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Hi, At present I have a Ford Mondeo that has been a superb car but I have recently been considering selling this and buying an Audi A4(the older shape). I am put off by reports of the 1.8 snapping timing belts at only 80k and I am concerned about general engine durability.
  • Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 13 Nov 2004 (Forum)
If the bearing bolts have been loosened the entire engine cylinder block and crankshaft must be replaced" Ford won't supply any parts for this engine, but will swap the bottom end for £400, but that means 11 hours work. A complete engine is £1100. As this same warning appears on a number of mondeo engines, i was wondering if anyone knows exactly what the problem is, how to get around it, names of any parts suppliers etc.

My (somewhat dated) thoughts for good modifications are; 1) Replacing contact breaker points by an electronic system 2) Replacing Ford VV carbs by the equivalent Webber 3) Replacing some Ford auto chokes with manual chokes 4) Fitting duplex timing chains to A series engines 5) Updating A series SU carburrettors to 1 3/4" MG Metro spec 6) Replacing dynamos with alternators 7) Changing positive earth cars to negative 8) Fitting (noisy!)
