  • Will using a premium diesel help with my Mercedes-Benz E220's running problem? 23 Jul 2010 (Ask HJ)

  • Dirty old `soot ball juggling` diesel? - at 6.5yrs 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Bought new in 02, the plan was for ten plus years or so. But with DPF seeming to rule new diesels out for my wife`s sort of work - I`m looking at it differently. The same with the 2005,Euro 4 - but non DPF - Multijet Van. Perhaps DPF has been a `tipping point` where diesel cars made before that will be seen as similar to the `simple` cars of the 90`s?
  • DPF-Short trips-alternative solutions 14 Aug 2008 (Forum)
As Screwloose outlined yesterday. DPF and short trips don`t go well together. What`s the answer for those of us still running diesels without DPF? Hold on to the current car? even taking an approach that would see a major expense such as a new engine- or other several thousand pound repair- preferable to a new car with DPF?
  • Party Transport Policies 22 Apr 2005 (Forum)
This will also apply to police cars; their device will be set to 5 mph though built up areas. Traffic wardens will be re-named Dick Turpin because, let?s face it, it?s daylight robbery. Any kerbs that are caught crawling will be arrested and the council will be fined £100.000 pounds. Full Manifesto is at: http://omrlp.brinkster.net/Manicfesto2005.asp
  • Backroom Predictions for 2004 5 Jan 2004 (Forum)
New Year is a time for predictions. So here is my guess at the top threads we will see in 2004; with some typical posts. S**** C****** (yes, that\'s \"Safety Cameras\", which is on the swear filter for the simple reason that they are burger all to do with safety and everything to do with revenue - ND) The police should spend less time trying to catch burglars - after all they have to pay for their drug habit and rarely hurt people(the burglars that is) They should concentrate on speeding motorists who are responsible for thousands of casualties!

In the winter, last year, it would struggle to start on cold mornings, but would always start and then be fine starting thereafter.

  • Ford Focus - Car Advice 25 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Im a minimum wage worker so affordability and upkeep is a major factor i cant afford a lemon or to upgrade every few year so my next car will be driven until it dies. My budget is £3500 i have been looking at ford focuses around 2009/2010 doing alot of research and reading alot of bad press around fords and their cluth dual mass flywheel problems and powershift etc etc. As i understand it these issues come into play from 2011 onwards is that right?

  • Ford Focus - Ford Focus intermittent electrical failure 14 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Yesterday we had a strange failure on our 2000 Ford Focus Estate 1.6 Zetec. The car ran a bit rough on a 20 mile trip to the airport, but cleared after my wife stopped and refuelled. On the way back I drove and on leaving the motorway I felt rough running and the ABS and alternator charge light (I think) came on, but again cleared.

  • Ford Focus 2002 1.6 pet - Ford focus 02 - To change cat or not? 7 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Error code: P0420 Dashboard trick: DTC9318, battery and alternator have good voltages (also read that this is consistent with a knackered cat) It looks like the front Lambda has been replaced fairly recently with a genuine ford part, maybe the previous owner was trying to fix this problem...before passing it onto gullible me! Car is at 100,000 miles Had an emisions test done which showed the lambda at 1.01 which is an MOT pass Since I've had the car i've replaced: cam belt, speed sensor, air/fuel filters Cleaned the idle control valve Drives OK, MPG and power not as good as I would expect but don't really have much experience as my other car is a tuned up mini!
  • Ford Fiesta MKVI 1.4 Style (2005) - Ford Fiesta clutch/gearbox issues 12 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Hi all, hoping someone can help me here. I bought a nice little Ford Fiesta about 4 months ago, and it has recently started to develop possible clutch or gearbox issues within the last few days. I've read a bit into it and it sounds like it could be a common problem, but I just want to make sure.

  • Early 2001 (mk1) Ford Focus - 1.8 Tddi - 2001 ford focus turbo leaking air? 8 Apr 2011 (Forum)
I have recently bought this ford focus and there seem to be a couple of problems. 1 - Creaks when moving slowly and turning - im assuming it is the sway bar links? 2 - It has just had a new clutch but when you lift up the clutch pedal in neutral, it sort of rattles a little bit.
