  Cheap X-Trail at Auction Today 12 Nov 2004 (News)
  £12,300 wasn’t too much for a 38k 2001/51 Mercedes W210 E320 Elegance estate. Nor was £9,800 for a 69k mile BMW 318i 143PS SE estate. Nor £10,400 for a nice metallic blue 38k mile 2001/51 318i 143PS SE saloon. But an 80k mile 02 reg A4 Avant TDI PD 130 5-speed was mega money at £11,200. More big sales next week with ex-fleet, finance and part-exchanges on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the big LCV sale on Thursday.

  SLKs Take a Dive at Auction Today 4 Oct 2004 (News)
  A 70k mile 99T Boxster 2.5 with a very nice set of alloys recovered slightly to sell for £15,250. While a 22k mile 97R BMW Z3 1.9 auto reached a mere £8,500 provisional. Plenty of other stuff was selling. A 10k mile 2002/52 LandRover Defender TD5 XS 9-seater sold for £19,200. Bids for a 70k mile 93L Honda CRX 1.6 VTEC kicked off at an optimistic £500, yet it went on to sell for £2,450.

  Stilos a Steal at Auction Today 5 May 2004 (News)
  Today, £10,250m was enough to buy a 72k mile 2001Y Audi A4 B6 TDI 130, handicapped somewhat by the old 5-speed manual box. A 118k mile 2000W BMW 323iSE finally sold away for a mere £6,100. But a 61k mile 2001X Lexus IS200 SE auto romped away from its high £9,600 reserve to sell for a staggering £11,100. IS200 are usually strong but this result helped confirm that they are generally commanding higher residuals than 3 Series.

  Cheap Beetle at Auction Today 18 Feb 2004 (News)
  A clean radiant red but 109k mile 2000V Focus 1.8 Zetec 3-door went for £3,125; a 95k mile 2000X Mazda 626 2.0GSI for £3,225; a 111k mile 2000V Focus 2.0 Ghia estate for £3,400; an 85k mile 2000W E46 BMW 323i for £7,900; and a 74k mile 2001/51 Mercedes C220 CDI Sports Coupe for £11,550. Three new shape Espaces went through in the Renault Finance section. The 15k mile 03 reg 2.0T Expression sold for £15,600; the 13k mile 03 reg 2.2 Expression sold for £17,400 and the 13k mile 2003/52 reg Grande Espace Privilege 3.0V6 diesel reached a top bid of £20,400.

  E270 CDI Makes £28,250 at Top Car Today 9 Feb 2004 (News)
  Bargain of the day was also next door: A 2001Y Passat TDI PD 130 Sport in regulation Silver with a lumpy 81k miles went for £8,250. There will be a big BMW open sale at Blackbushe next Monday 16th February, together with the usual Lex Executive sale, so put that date in your diaries. News Top Car: 23rd February.   More Buyers Than Cars at Auction Today 3 Jan 2003 (News)
  Possibly the most interesting appearance of the day was a personally imported 1,400 mile 02 reg BMW 320D Compact bid to £13,900, but sadly the importer had failed to spec it up with a/c, alloys or anything much to make it the very desirable car it should have been. Next week, January part-exchanges start coming through.

  £10,000 S-Type Jag at Auction Today 10 May 2002 (News)
  Heavy-duty executives stayed strong with a 71,000 mile 99S MB E280 Avant Gard selling for £12,000 and a 74,000 mile 2000V BMW 523iSE (steel liner block) making a solid £11,650. Closest to bargain of the day had to be an 85,000 mile 97P Audi A8 2.8 Sport. Okay, I know it was a leggy P reg, but £6,450 didn’t seem out of order for so much motor.

  Mega Bargains at Auction Today 9 Nov 2001 (News)
  Bidding kicked off at a rock solid £25,000 and went all the way to £27,400, so there still seems to be a market for them even though every driveway in St. Georges Hill now HAS to be occupied by a BMW X5.   New Mercedes C200K Bids to £20,400 19 Oct 2001 (News)
  The 14,000 mile 2001X reg car bid to a strong £20,400 but the vendor wanted more. In contrast, an arch rival 23,000 mile 2001Y BMW 520i 2.2 litre SE bid to a mere £16,550. There were ups and downs throughout the sale, yet still plenty of bargains to be had. A smart, dark metallic blue 2000W Jaguar S Type manual with a/c, CD and leather and a low 23,000 miles sold for a sensible £16,750.

  New Lexus IS300 Here from 1st October 25 Sep 2001 (News)
  It develops 211bhp at 5,800rpm and 212lb ft (288Nm) torque at 3,800rpm. That's a bit short of the 231bhp of the BMW 330 and 240bhp of the Jaguar S-Type 3.0 V6, but it still gets the IS300 to sixty in 8.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 143mph. The combined fuel consumption figure of the saloon is 26.1mpg with CO2 output of 256g/km (SportCross 25.2mpg and 265g/km).

  Right Cars Still Making Top Money 22 Jun 2001 (News)
  With Summer coming up it's second only to the TGV as ideal transport to the South of France and was probably pre-sold by the bidder. Status, Small and Silver is still selling like mad, especially with the BMW propeller badge. A pair of air-conditioned 98R 318iS coupes with 50,000 and 80,000 miles made £9,400 and £8,400 respectively. The 50,000 miler was by far the better buy as the 80,000 car needed a door painting.

  I can understand what you are saying but I drove in the same manner in my previous car a 1999 Honda Accord Type V automatic hatchback, which I had for 13 years, and in a Rover automatic before that, without having a problem. It does appear that the BMW seat is the main cause of my difficulty. When you take up an ideal sitting position in the BMW there is a slight gap between your back and the seat so when you relax into the seat your back takes up a slight convex curve.

    The 1990s are represented by a range of sporty German cars, including   several Mercedes and an impressive 1999 BMW Alpina B10 (£6500-7500).   English sports cars also feature here, in the form of a 1992 TVR S3   2.9 which was stored for 10 years (£3750-4750). Finally, bringing the   sale into this decade, the newest vehicles in the sale include a fine   2001 Mercedes SL320 (£11000-13000).

  Inconsistent Bidding At Auction Today 8 Feb 2008 (News)
  A 10k mile 07 Audi Allroad 3.0TDI auto with satnav made a resounding £32,800s. And there was a fair old fight for a 2004/54 BMW X5 3.0D Sport in full WAG spec of black with beige leather and satnav plus traffic light TV. Despite a small matter of 96,000 miles, bidding was brisk and it sold for £18,800. A mere £31,200 less then they were going for in the overs market when it was new and a justifiable 32.5p a mile.

  The undoubted star of the auction was a stunning supercharged 1930 Alfa Romeo 1750 6C Gran Sport, estimated at £280,000 to £320,000 that apparently saw a top bid of £310,000. A lovely 1941 BMW 327/28 Cabriolet sold for £110,000. A recreation of the 1989 Michael Keaton ‘Batmobile’ sold for £65,000, helped on its way by the presence of a recreation of Batman himself.
