  No auto, no leather, no air, but a big, solid, ultra-reliable minicab for £650. A very clean, metallic grey 60k mile 99T Peugeot 406 1.8 Rapier wasn’t dear either selling for a straight £2,000. Nor was a genuine but faded looking 74k mile 89G SAAB 900iS 4-door auto, sold for £130. Volvo estates were reasonable too, with £2,325 buying a 99k mile 96P 850 2.0SE 10v auto and £2,200 a 118k mile 97P 860 2.5 CD manual estate.

  Even cheaper cheapies included a 58k mile 2001Y Toyota Prius, sold for £6,250; a 95k mile 2000W Golf TDI PD 115, sold for £5,800; a 27k mile 2001Y Focus 2.0 Zetec 3-dr with a/c bid to £5,250; a 47k mile 2001/51 RAV-4 2.0GX 5-door, sold for £11,100; a 14k mile 02 reg FIAT Stilo 2.4 Abarth, sold for £6,850; a 91k mile 2001X Rover 45 2.0TD IE, bid to £2,650; and a 2000V Peugeot 406 2.0HDI 110 LX estate sold for an astonishing £1,950. However, at 215,685 miles it had probably amortised itself. There’s plenty more going on over the next week with FIATs, ex-fleet cars and part-exchanges on Wednesday, the van sale on Thursday, ex-fleet cars and part-exchanges on Friday, same as today at Blackbushe next Monday, and also next Monday evening a BCA Classic Sale to be held at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge.

  It had 93,000 on the clock and it didn’t run too well, but the alloys alone on this 87D 318i had to be worth more than £50. A relatively clean 101k mile 92K Peugeot 405 1.6GR was £40 and a dog of a 124k mile 92K Rover 414 SLI with body damage but an MOT until October sold for £30. In contrast, a private bidder paid all of £13,650 for a 98S Mercedes ML320 7-seater with leather, but 62k miles unwarranted and no service history.

  An 87k mile 2002/52 Citroen C5 HPI sold for £4,100, a 93k mile 2000W BMW 520iSE auto sold for £8,000, a 121k mile 2000W Peugeot 406 2.0HDI 110 GTX sold for £3,100, and an unmarked but 92k mile 2001/51 Mondeo 1.8 Zetec sold for £5,000. However, a clean 170,000 mile 97P Jaguar XJ6 3.2 Sport (one of the last sixes) went £500 over my estimate at £4,000.

A 121,000 mile 98R Peugeot 406 LXTD with a/c sold for £2,400; a 73,000 mile 98R Laguna 1.8RT Sport with a/c sold for £2,375; a 99,000 mile 98S Mondeo LXTD with a/c sold for £2,400; and a 76,000 mile 98R Mondeo 1.8LX estate with a/c sold for £2,450.

  A 7 owner (that's right, seven) 92K 318iS with a dubious 65k on the clock sold for a fair £2,700. A 52,000 mile 98S Peugeot 106 GTi bid to a roughly-right £5,050. A 69,000 mile 97P BMW M3 Evo 3.2 bid to a low £12,150. And a filthy 78,000 mile 96P Golf VR6 smelling of steam and head gasket problems sold for £5,950.

  (There's a Citroen Sale at Blackbushe on Monday 14th.) Obsolete, but great looking, Peugeot 306XSis are still hot. A pretty 5,000 mile 2000X 5-door bid to £8,000 and a 36,000 mile 2000X 3-door sold for £6,825. And 206s haven't lost their pace either with £6,125 needed to buy a 20,000 mile 2000W 1.4LX 3-door with a/c.
