  In contrast, during the MPG Marathon, a Mini John Cooper Works improved on its official fuel-economy capability by 23 per cent, when the person behind the wheel employed some green driving techniques. Jay Nagley from Clean Green Cars said: "Real world experience shows just how great deviations from the official figures can be."   Google to build self-driving cars 28 May 2014 (News)
  Google has been working on a self-driving car for several years with the goal of f ully autonomous driving. Until now it has used modified Lexus cars but Google has now decided to build its own. Limited to 25mph the protoype is fully electric and has a foam-like material at the front plus a flexible windscreen, designed for pedestrian safety.

As well as traditional test centres, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is to provide practical tests from venues such as local authority buildings, hotels and leisure centres, with the hope of providing a local driving test for locations which no longer have an official test centre.
