Nino Farina not only claimed pole position and the fastest lap of the race, he also won the race outright.

    In a case that could cause far-reaching ripples, a California Honda Civic Hybrid owner has won a hearing over the car's fuel economy claims. Heather Peters - a Los Angeles resident - took Honda Motor Co to the small claims court when her car didn't live up to claimed figure of 50mpg (US gallons) and was often as low as 30mpg (US gallons).

    The end result is an ECU remap which adds an extra 44bhp and 103Nm to the E90-E93 320D, increasing the maximum outputs to 220bhp and 444Nm respectively, transforming the performance of the 1495 kilo car. Driveability is also greatly improved, producing a car that’s both faster and easier to drive. Pleasingly, the 320D’s much praised fuel economy is unaffected by the Superchip’s ECU remap and in most instances consumption improves due to the extra low rev torque available to the driver.
