Convertible auction may prove tempting

Fri, 06 Mar 2009
Motorists who like the idea of buying at auction may want to check out an event taking place later this month.

A convertible sale is being held by British Car Auctions at its Blackbushe centre on March 11th.

The vehicles going under the hammer are from Lloyds TSB Autolease/Black Horse and prices are expected to range from under £4,000 to £40,000.

Organisers of the auction said the event should cater to a wide variety of people.

PR manager Tim Naylor said: "With such a broad range of ragtops on offer, there will be something for everyone, whatever their tastes and budget."

Among the vehicles on offer are a 2004 Lotus Elise 1.8 tourer roadster with 16,000 miles on the clock and a Smart roadster from the same year that has covered less than 10,000 miles.

In related motoring news, a recent prestige car sale by BCA saw someone offer £59,800 for a Ferrari that was previously owned by England footballer Joe Cole.
