The RM16 also uses electronic trickery extensively to improve cornering, engine responsiveness and basic excitement, including an electronic supercharger, an electronic differential to assist grip during high-speed turning, an electronically controlled exhaust system for louder noises, and an automatically adjustable spoiler to improve aerodynamics. How much of this stuff will make it into the production N cars isn’t clear, though Hyundai is clearly serious about making them as engaging to drive as possible – it looks as though the i30 N will be a solid Golf GTI rival, at the very least. -

Volkswagen unveils all-new Tiguan 15 Sep 2015 (News)
. The new Tiguan will be able to tow a caravan friendly 2500kg and feature a range of tech, with online notifications that will warn the driver about traffic delays, parking space availability and road works. Safety equipment will also be better, with automatic city braking, pedestrian monitoring, lane assist and post-collision braking all fitted as standard. In-car connectivity will also be improved, with Apple and Android functionality, via app connect that will also allow tablets to be paired up to the infotainment system. Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Nissan launches new Navara 15 Sep 2015 (News)
The new Navara will be available with two or four-wheel drive with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard or an optional seven-speed automatic. The maximum payload and towing capacity have both increased with the latest Navara able to carry in excess of one tonne and tow up to 3500kg. The load bed is also longer with an extra 67mm in the Double Cab version while the King Cab has a 1788mm load bed. -

According to the vendor, the automatic choke was replaced before he got the car, ‘I’ve replaced and simplified the remaining vacuum hoses.’ There’s plenty of tread depth on the tyres, although we understand one of the wheel bearings is a bit grumbly. -
Diesel drivers face fines for idling engines 5 Aug 2014 (News)
The council says it will target trucks, buses and diesel cars in particular, although petrol cars are not exempt from potential fines. Older cars are more likely to be affected, since they typically do without automatic stop/start technology. Diesel engines are currently incentivised because of their low CO2 emissions, which equate to cheaper annual road tax. Typically a diesel model will offer lower CO2 emissions than a similarly powerful petrol model. -

One that could really bring them in will be rare Japanese-specification 1992 Peugeot 205GTI automatic. It was never offered in the UK in this form - hot hatches simply didn't have slush boxes back then - but it was perfect for the Japanese market. As an aside, the importer that sold Peugeots on that market also brought in Rovers, meaning this car will have shared space in the brochure with the Mini! -
New congestion charging aimed at encouraging ULEVs into London 25 Apr 2013 (News)
It replaces the current Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD) for cars emitting less than 100g/km; and the Electric Vehicle Discount. Anyone registered for the latter will automatically be transferred to the new ULED, and those with sub-100g/km cars will qualify for a three-year sunset period extension. The sunset period for the owners of vehicles currently registered for the GVD will end on 24 June 2016. -
