Ford Mondeo IV - Low battery 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
Afraid that it might be about to run flat, I started the engine and just let it run for about 10 minutes and then I didn't notice the warning again. Now, I have not been driving a lot recently, maybe no more than 100 miles in the last month, and I had only driven a couple of miles that day, and not at all for the previous couple of days. So, I am wondering if there could be a problem with the battery or if, because of the lack of driving recently, it might have just not been charged enough. -
Buying winter tyres - online or otherwise 12 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Just moved to the UK from Switzerland. I am driving a Ford S-Max We take occasional driving trips to the Alps (the next one in 2 weeks). My original plan was to buy some snow chains, but the owners manual says snow chains should not be used if we have larger wheels (225/50/17), which we do. -
Nissan Primera III (1999 - 2002) - 00 1.8 Lambda sensor? 29 Jan 2010 (Forum)
My rev counter is eratic on tic over and whilst driving, seems to be worse under 50miles an hour the overall performance is very poor engine management light is on continually had diagnostics twice first one was intermittent misfire and was suggested a valve was sticking new oil and additives were added to the engine but to no avail second diagnostic cam shaft sensor fault, replaced it, but no change,I have been told it could be the lambada sensor is not working I have disconnected the plug on the wiring harness while the engine was ticking over no difference was noted on engine tick over and rev counter was still operating eraticaly took it for a drive round the block no difference was noted, if the lambada was working correctly would I have noticed a difference after unplugging it.I hope sombody can advise me it has been going on for a long time and I have spent a lot of money on false leads. -

4x4 owners - tell us your snow experiences? 9 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Would be interested in any tales of how your vehicle has done in the snow, is this the first you have used the 4x4 properly? If you have a part-time set up like the CRV did you find it kicked in during your snow driving or was the normal set up enough? Anyone raised some money or goodwill through towing the neighbours out of ditches? Did you go out in your car purely to test its capabilities? Any 4 wheel drive power slides in deserted car parks? -
What do you wear? 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I work in an air conditioned office and so wear the same attire all year round i.e. shirt and tie but never a jacket, as the temperature is the same all year round. Also, I rarely wear a coat on my drive to work, whatever the weather. The car is within 10 feet of my front door and at the other end it's about 100 metres. So unless it's raining, there's no need. I do keep a coat in the car for emergencies though. -
MINI Cooper S R53 (2002 - 2007) - What to get Mini Cooper s or Golf 16 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I've narrowed the search down to either: A Mini Cooper S (2002-2005) or a Golf GT FSI(bit newer 04-05) Now need advice on which to get, my thoughts are as follows The Mini is quicker, and has been said to be lot of fun to drive and I like the look of the S. Im worried about comfort (hard ride) and if i'll enjoy driving it. The golf is more standard, a 2.0 engine but actually has a good MPG, less fun i think, slower, but more practical. -
Hyundai i20 (2009) - AUTOMATIC I20 26 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I have had a rush of sense come over me hence the title. I was driving past a Hyundai garage last Friday when I decided to pull in and have a quick glance at the above. Well, what a pleasurable experience. Knowledgeable helpful staff, straight to the point and no messing. -
Mazda 626 (2000 - 2002) - 00 2.0 Poor MPG economy 18 Sep 2009 (Forum)
The car has covered 64,000 miles, is 9 years old and is in good condition with plenty of main dealer history. I'm not driving it like a boy racer, nor like an old lady. Any ideas of what's causing this slightly disappointing economy? I was hoping for a consistent 30mpg plus... -

Honda Jazz/Fit (2001 - 2008) - 03 1.4 CVT has recently become jerky 25 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Hi all, I bought a 2003 Honda Jazz 1.4 CVT 9 months ago. It had 21,000 miles on the clock, and since then I've driven ~1,100 miles. I only drive infrequently, usually ~8 miles a week, with occasional motorway trips every couple of months. 1 month ago I noticed whilst driving on the motorway that the engine was a bit jerky at high speeds but low revs. -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 99 1.25 lack of power / drinking fuel 30 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Hi Got a '99 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec manual 89k on the clock Having issues with power/acceleration. Seems to take ages to build up any momentum and struggles to get over 70mph. Have to drive with foot on the floor to get speed up and it's drinking an outrageous amount of fuel. When at around 70mph on flat road revs are at approx 3.5k but engine sounds like it's revving much higher. Driving up hill is awful, takes forever to get anywhere New coil pack about 18 months ago but hasn't had a service since December '06. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 95 1.4 Blue smoke when warm. 27 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Afternoon all. I've just bought a car for my partner for her to learn to drive in, although she won't be learning now as we've just discovered she's pregnant. Anyway, when I start the car there is a puff of blue smoke which I know is the valve stem seals/valve guides, but there is no more smoke until after about 5-10 min's when the engine is warm, it gets worse as it warms up basicly. -

When do Dealers register cars 8 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Now I can understand why dealers don't register stock for sale (adds more keepers) but surely stock for sale should only be on the road for test drives/repairs and the like. If they are using it as a pool car or a staff car (unlikely that a Ford dealer woud use a Corsa as a courtesy car) should they not register it in their name? The camera is around 30 miles from the dealer so unlikely to be a test drive! -
