Peugoet 406 Diesel 2 May 2007 (Forum)
My mate has a Peugeot 406 Diesel 2 litre HDI..It ran Ok then suddenly wouldn't rev beyond 3000rpm..It then started to run "lumpy " and now refuses to start..A local mechanic has changed a sensor ( either co or co2 not sure which )..cambelt and timing have been checked and are OK..The pressure has been tested in the common rail and its OK..he did manage to get it started with a tow but soon after starting the engine just died. -
Fusion or 206 26 Apr 2007 (Forum)
In the never ending search for a replacement car for the missus, I think we've narrowed it down to either a 54reg Peugeot 206 1.1s, 15000m, £3995 or a 52reg Ford Fusion 2 1.6, 20000m £3995. Both are from a trader and appear in good nick. Wife prefers the fusion and it is the practical ,but I'm a little put off by what appears to be a 'common' problem with Fiesta/Fusion steering rack leaks. -
Squeeling PUG 206:( 27 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I have bought a W reg PEUGEOT 206 GLX. After a few weeks (and out of the warranty given), it's started to make a squeeling noise from the engine bay. The noise is to the offside and is coming from the area where the belt is. I have sprayed WD40 onto the belt and this seems to cure it for a while. -
bumper evolution 2 Jul 2006 (Forum)
I was just looking at the new Peugeot 207 after all the discussion of bumpers on this forum. A lot of people have critisized new car design due to the bumpers disaparing into the body and their resultant fraginily. The 207 seems to have come full circle, sporting a little bumper across the radiator, whilst the nose of the car is surounded with the bumper-cum-body nose bit we see on cars now. -

Cylinder head overhaul needed? Pug 106 8 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Hi all, hoping someone can advise me - my M Reg Peugeot 106 Diesel is almost impossible to start in cold weather, over the last couple of years the battery and glow plugs have been replaced more than once with no improvement. A local garage has now advised that a cylinder head overhaul is required at a cost of around £600, but I'm reluctant to spend so much on an old car. -
How can I sell my car? 21 Sep 2005 (Forum)
I've a 2002 51 plate Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi(90) Rapier which I'm trying to sell. It's the 4 door saloon in silver, excellent condition with 45000 miles on the clock. It's advertised in Autotrader, Exchange & Mart, Tradeit (local bristol freeads - sold 2 cars through this previously) and Adtrader in Wales. -
205 drum removal 11 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Am I missing something here. I have tried to remove the rear brake drum on my 1991 Peugeot 205 but to no avail. I've taken off the 32mm locking nut and completely slackened off the handbrake cable. The drum is loose and rotates but refuses to come off. In the workshop manual it says to release the auto adjusting mechanism through one of the holes in the drum. -
406 head gasket failure 1 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Head gasket failed this weekend, limped car 20 miles to a Peugeot dealership. (This is only my diagnosis. Symptoms: 50% loss of power, rough burbling engine sound, autodiagnostics light came on, flashed then stayed on) Any guesses on how many hours labour this will be, I? -

Help Pug 306 Letting In Water 1 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Not so much a technical question but i have run out of ideas. The passenger door on our Peugeot 306 is letting in water, normally you after a bit of rain you can see that the carpet is wet, today my wife called in to work to show me that there was at least an inch of water sloshing about in the passenger side footwell. -
Finding 12volt LED's 19 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I have just bought a used Peugeot 106 and have found the Clarion CD/Radio only partially illuminates at night. I have checked the LED's inside the removable front panel and 5 out of 6 are not working. I have searched everywhere on the Net and can only find 3 and 5 volt replacement LED's. -

405 - Carb or fuel injection? 9 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Morning all I've just acquired a 93 Peugeot 405 1.6GL but have no idea whether it is fuel injected or not. I've had a quick gander under the bonnet and didn't see anything that looked like a carb (can't spell the full name!). Mind you, my technical knowledge is only slightly greater than HF's! -

Pug306 tacho intermittent 18 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Has anyone experienced problems with their tachos on a Peugeot 306. Mines is a 93 turbo diesel, and it appears to work intermittently, usually flicks on at higher revs, and cuts off at lower revs. I have had a look at the hall effect sensor attached next to the flywheel and the wiring to the connector appears fine. -

Dodgy alternator? 25 Nov 2002 (Forum)
I have a 1991 Peugeot 205 DTurbo that exhibits the following: On starting the car after a prolonged stop the battery charge light stays on. When the slightest amount of revs are applied the light goes off and doesn't come back on (and the headlights brighten slightly). -
Cambelts again 10 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Truly, honestly, would you go to the bother of changing the cam belt on a seven year old, absolutely guaranteed 15,000 mile, Peugeot 306 with the 1.8 XU7 lump? Yes, I know what can happen if it fails, but can age alone affect the belt as much as oil weeps (there are none), Ultraviolet light (obviously, there is none!), and usage can?
