I have bought a W reg PEUGEOT 206 GLX. After a few weeks (and out of the warranty given), it's started to make a squeeling noise from the engine bay. The noise is to the offside and is coming from the area where the belt is. I have sprayed WD40 onto the belt and this seems to cure it for a while. I don't think it's the water pump, I think it's one of the pulley's (possibly bearing / lack of grease) Is this a simple job to do and how do you do it? Is ti possible to replace the grease without removal?
Thanks

If you only bought it a few weeks ago, then read this thread:

If you do take anywhere, please don't mention that you sprayed the belt with WD40.

Andy - I thought it was the belt, but the noise seems to be coming from either the middle of lower pulley. Is replacing the belt a DIY job or am I better taking it to a garage.

When I bought the car, I was told that the warranty was 1 month of 1000 miles, whichever came 1st. The month ran out and the problem started.

Warranties do not mean anything is the car fit for its purpose answer no take it back and get it repaited ,we are talking a new fan belt £5 at the most.

If it is the aux belt get one from a Peugeot / Citroen dealer as they launched a modified anti squeal belt a couple of years back, less then £10 for the part.
