  • Paint Code Request 20 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Help needed, please. I need to know the paint code for my Peugeot so that my friendly local car sprayer can mix me some touch-up paint. The colour is Pagoda Red (metallic)- I have looked under the bonnet but can't find anything resembling a paint code. Thanks.
  • £4500 to spend asap! 21 May 2001 (Forum)
Any suggestions on what car i can get for £4500 to replace my 180,000 mile Mk 2 Golf GTI with failing brakes. Don't really want to go for a Vauxhall/ Ford. Considering a diesel such as a Peugeot 306 or mk3 Golf TDI. Going off to auction tonight so if you have any opinions...!! Thanks!
  • Dacia / Duster - SUV recommendations 29 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Hello all. A few years ago this forum recommended we buy a Peugeot 108 and it’s been excellent. Therefore, I thought I’d get your feedback and suggestions as we add another car to our family. Some background; I used to have a large enough company car for family use.
  • Peugeot 307 - Issues with brakes after new rear discs and pads 14 Jun 2019 (Forum)
Hi all,  I recently had my MOT where I had both my rear brake discs and pads replaced (Peugeot 307). Since I have had the car back I've noticed the braking feels quite different to how it did before.   The brakes feel fine if I gently ease on the brake pedal to stop, however if I attempt to brake sharply/quickly, it feels as though there is a bit of a delay between pressing the pedal all the way down and that pressure being felt in the braking.
  • Peugeot 407 SW - 1.6HDi No Power, Black Smoke 18 Aug 2015 (Forum)
After a few days of driving it lost all power and would not rev over 2000-2500 rpm, it did not even have enough power to pull away on a fairly flat road, I also got the "anti pollution fault" message. I plugged the diag machine in (Peugeot Planet) and it informed me that the DPF was blocked.  I also suspected the Turbo was at fault, so as money is tight at the moment I replaced the turbo cartridge/CHRA, while I had the car in bits I removed the DPF and gave it a good clean with a pressure washer and Mr Muscle oven cleaner.
  • Peugeot 407 diesel 2.0 - Just bought 2H diesel -- thick white smoke 6 May 2014 (Forum)
All, I bought a Peugeot 407 HDi 2.0 estate from an independent car dealer 2 days ago. It's 8 years old with FSH and only 42k on the clock. Car was fine when I test drove it. I did notice the engine was warm when I inspected it (before I test drove it!)
  • Peugeot 207cc 1.6 GT. - Rear fog lights 28 Mar 2013 (Forum)
I cleaned as much corrosion as I could and fitted 2 new bulbs but still no joy. I then assumed it may be the fuse but Peugeot don't list a fuse for the foglights (the fronts are ok by the way) I have been in touch with the dealer and arranged to take it back next Tuesday for repair. However, as the car was awarded an MOT despite a glaring (or in this case non-glaring!)
  • Peugeot 307 - Twist or stick? 9 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I’m a long time lurker at this site and now the latest in a long line of people looking for a bit of advice! My wife has a 2004 Peugeot 307 1.4 HDI which we have owned from 3 months old that has now covered 54k. Knowing now of the reputation of French cars I’m not sure that we would make the same purchase today but, despite being a bit dull to drive, this car has been faultless in the 8 years that we have owned it and other than regular servicing, tyres, brakes and recently an exhaust there have been no unexpected costs.
  • Pug 306 to 307 - Car upgrade, have I made a mistake? 11 Dec 2011 (Forum)
I am hoping for some objective advice as I am beginning to get a bit paranoid. I have a 306 2.0 HDI which was my first peugeot after wanting one for ages. about 9 months after purchase a wire from the fuel relay died, there was no "actual fault" per se, but apparently peugeot sometimes use cheap wire which then corrodes.

  • Peugeot 306 - Heater Matrix Replacement 24 Nov 2010 (Forum)
I've just finished replacing the heater matrix in my 1998 Peugeot  306 1.4 petrol Meridan so would like to give anybody interested my knowledge surrounding this difficult DIY job. 1. If possible try a radiator sealent before replacing the matrix as this is a 2 to 3 day job which makes the interior of the car look like a train crash once you've taken out dash, air flow boxes, wiring loom, steering wheel, airbags, windscreen wiper assembly.
  • Peugeot - 01 Expert 2.0 HDI Black smoke - loss of power. 15 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Please excuse this post being a bit long winded, but I am desperate to get any advice, and this forum seems more receptive. I have a Peugeot Expert 2.0 HDI on a 51 plate. The van has started blowing black smoke and there is no acceleration up hills etc. It starts first time every time and will drive on the flat ok (Limited power though), but will not climb hills.
  • Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - 00 1124cc Difficult to start, runs badly. 26 Oct 2008 (Forum)
PEUGEOT 106. 2000 PLATE. 78,000 MILES. Please could somebody help me - my car is driving me mad! Over the last couple of weeks (since it has started to get cold) I have experienced problems starting my car in the mornings.
  • Pug 306 HDi Fuel Problems - HELP! 21 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Their diagnostics said there were fuelling problems with the injectors, but he was sceptical, as after clearing the fault codes, a different set of codes appeared. It was taken to a Peugeot main dealer who diagnosed failed injectors 1 & 3. As a result all 4 were changed as per Pug procedures. The car still would not fuel or run correctly. The fuel pump was changed, as Peugeot said there could be swarf in the fuel system.
  • Improving Peugeot 406 HDI 2.2 136HP 24 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Hiya all Here's the full spec: Peugeot 406 estate 2000 2.2 HDI 136HP unit. 29k miles. Should think you all know that by now! And very nice it is too. But my head has been turned by claims of 'more power', like the TV programme. Actually what's really done it is the 110HP mondeo estate I drove felt like it had a better spread & this Pug doesn't feel like it's has an extra 25 odd horses pulling it.
  • Peugeot 406 Executive Turbo 22 May 2003 (Forum)
What age would I be looking at getting for £3.5k or under at auction? 99T perhaps? I've seen S reg ones on Autotrader for as little as £3k. I'm told Peugeots figures are unreliable. Where can I find accurate, indepedant performance figures for the 406 range? Is it worth considering or should I just go back to the predictable but safe idea of a 1.9TD Xantia SX, on a S plate?
  • French car reliability 19 Sep 2014 (Forum)
They did admit that Nissan, Honda and Mini were not classed as British. Anyhow, what price Peugeot and Renault, given the stick wielded by some regulars on this forum?  :-)
  • 306 Diesel 12 Dec 2005 (Forum)
thinking of buying a 98-99 Peugeot 306 Diesel and wondered if any of you have experience of ownership. Is it worthwhile and what are the running costs (service etc) compared to a petrol version. I've had a look at what HJ says I should look out for, but as there are literally hundreds out there for sale, what should I be looking for.
  • Is it the right price for a 406?? 5 May 2003 (Forum)
I've just bought what apears to be a pretty mint Peugeot 406 2.0 SRi Turbo for £2550. It is a 1998 S-reg with 97,000 miles, silver, FSH, new tyres, Climate control and all the other usual 406 goodies. Compared to Parkers guide its a good buy, but is this really a good buy????
  • oil consumption 12 Jan 2003 (Forum)
l have recently bought a peugeot 405 2ltr petrol, l've had to top-up the oil roughly every 3 weeks, each time the oil level drops half way between the high and low marks on the dipstick (about 3/4 of a litre), the car runs fine does not smoke and there appears to be no external leaks, is this oil consumption normal for this model?
